The 1993 Australian Individual Speedway Championship was held at the Brisbane Exhibition Ground in Brisbane, Queensland on 30 January 1993. [1]
Defending champion Leigh Adams won his second straight Australian Championship. [2] Fellow Mildura rider Jason Lyons finished second with Adelaide's Shane Bowes finishing third. Another Adelaide rider (though riding under the Western Australian flag) Craig Hodgson defeated Queensland champion Troy Butler to claim fourth place. [3]

Leigh Scott Adams is a former motorcycle speedway rider from Australia. He is a multiple Speedway Grand Prix winner and World Team Champion. He also won a record 10 Australian Solo Championships, four Australian Under-21 Championships, the 1992 Individual Speedway Junior World Championship, and was the 1986 Australian Under-16 Champion.
Ryan Geoffrey Sullivan is a former Australian international motorcycle speedway rider who has won the Australian Solo Championship, Australian Under-21 Speedway Championship, and Under-16 championships during his career. Sullivan achieved a career best third in the 2002 Speedway Grand Prix, winning two of the ten Grand Prix run during the year.

Eighteen-year-old Brisbane based rider Troy Butler surprised by winning his first Australian Championship and in doing so becoming the youngest winner in the history of the Australian Championship since it was first run in 1926. The top four placed riders were all from Queensland with he first non-Queenslander being fifth placed South Australian Steve Baker who lost a runoff for fourth place to Steve Regeling. Baker and Regeling were the only riders to defeat Butler on the day.
