The 1994 Australian Individual Speedway Championship was held at the Olympic Park Speedway in Mildura, Victoria on 22 January 1994. [1]

Two time defending champion Leigh Adams won his third straight Australian Championship and his first with a 15 point maximum. [2] Jason Lyons finished second for the second straight year while Jason Crump, the son of dour time Australian Champion Phil Crump finished third making it an all-Mildura rider podium. [3]

The Sidewinders Speedway is a junior Motorcycle speedway that was opened in 1978 in the semi-industrial Adelaide suburb of Wingfield in South Australia. The Sidewinders U/16 Speedway Club Inc. was founded two years earlier in 1976 by Graham Baker and Roy Bitmead, with help from Rowley Park Speedway riders Robin and Kym Amundson, and their father Bill. As it was then, Sidewinders goal is to promote and develop speedway through its junior ranks with riders aged 4–15, something that had rarely been done in Australia to that point. Once a rider turns 16 he or she then move into the senior ranks.

The 1996 Australian Individual Speedway Championship was held at the Newcastle Showgrounds in Newcastle, New South Wales on 17 February 1996. The Newcastle Showgrounds had last hosted an Australian Solo Championship in 1927 when it was a ½ mile track and not the modern, 400 metres version.

The 1997 Australian Individual Speedway Championship was held at the Brisbane Exhibition Ground in Brisbane, Queensland on 28 December 1996. This was the final time that the "Ekka" has hosted an Australian Solo Championship.
