The Oregon–Oregon State football rivalry is an American college football rivalry game played annually in the state of Oregon between the Ducks of the University of Oregon in Eugene and the Beavers of Oregon State University in Corvallis.
Robert Michael Bellotti is an American college football analyst for ESPN and ABC. He was with the University of Oregon's football program for over 20 years serving as offensive coordinator for six years, head coach for 14 years, and athletic director for one year. Bellotti is the winningest coach in Oregon football history and is credited with building the program into a major football power. He was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 2014.
Richard Llewellyn Brooks is a retired American football player and coach. He was the head coach at the University of Oregon from 1977 to 1994, the National Football League (NFL)'s St. Louis Rams from 1995 to 1996, and the University of Kentucky from 2003 to 2009.
John Harold Cooper is a former American football player and coach. Cooper was an assistant coach at Iowa State, Oregon State, UCLA, Kansas, and Kentucky. Then, he embarked on a head coaching career, as he served as the head coach at the University of Tulsa (1977–1984), Arizona State University (1985–1987), and Ohio State University (1988–2000), compiling a career record of 192–84–6. Cooper was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame as a coach in 2008.
Hugo Francis Bezdek was a Czech American athlete who played American football and was a coach of football, basketball, and baseball. He was the head football coach at the University of Oregon, the University of Arkansas (1908–1912), Pennsylvania State University (1918–1929), and Delaware Valley College (1949). Bezdek also coached the Mare Island Marines in the 1918 Rose Bowl and the Cleveland Rams of the National Football League (NFL) in 1937 and part of the 1938 season. In addition, Bezdek coached basketball at Oregon and Penn State (1919), coached baseball at Arkansas (1909–1913), Oregon (1914–1917) and Penn State (1920–1930), and served as the manager of Major League Baseball's Pittsburgh Pirates (1917–1919). He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame as a coach in 1954.
The Oregon State Beavers are the athletic teams that represent Oregon State University, located in Corvallis, Oregon. The Beavers compete at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I level as a member of the Pac-12 Conference. Oregon State's mascot is Benny the Beaver. Jesuit High School is a private, Catholic, college-preparatory school run by the USA West Province of the Society of Jesus in Beaverton outside Portland, Oregon, United States, in the Archdiocese of Portland. It was founded by the Jesuits in 1956 and uses a Jesuit, college-preparatory curriculum. It is coeducational and enrolls approximately 1,300 students of all faiths.
The 1894 Oregon Webfoots football team represented the University of Oregon as a member of the Oregon Intercollegiate Football Association (OIFA) during the 1894 college football season. It was the Webfoots' first season and team was led by head coaches Cal Young and J. A. Church. They finished the season with an overall record of 1–2–1. The first Oregon football team played on the field that is now the site of the university's Computing Center and Gilbert Hall.

It was the Webfoots' 12th season; they competed as an independent and were led by head coach Bruce Shorts. They finished the season with a record of four wins, two losses and two ties (4–2–2).
The 1995 Rose Bowl was a college football bowl game played on Monday January 2, 1995, because New Year's Day was on a Sunday. It was the 81st Rose Bowl Game. The Penn State Nittany Lions defeated the Oregon Ducks 38–20. Ki-Jana Carter of Penn State and Danny O'Neil of Oregon both were named the Rose Bowl Players of the Game. Many observers point to this game as the one that made Ki-Jana Carter a number one selection in the 1995 NFL Draft.

In their sixth season under head coach Mike Price, the Cougars compiled an 7–4 regular season record, and outscored their opponents 192 to 136. The preseason media poll had picked WSU to finish last in the conference.

Melvin John "Mad Dog" O'Billovich was a Canadian football player who played for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He won the Grey Cup with Hamilton in 1967. He previously played college football at Oregon State University under coach Tommy Prothro. His brother, Bob O'Billovich, and son Tony O'Billovich also played in the Canadian Football League (CFL).

In their fourth year under head coach Keith Gilbertson, the Golden Bears compiled a 3–8 record, finished in a tie for eighth place in the Pac-10, and were outscored by their opponents by a combined score of 286 to 243.
