Parliamentary elections were held in Norway on 12 and 13 September 1965. The Labour Party remained the largest party, winning 68 of the 150 seats. However, the four non-socialist parties succeeded in winning a majority between them and forming a government. Per Borten, the leader of the Centre Party, became Prime Minister.
Ole Christian Paus was a Norwegian singer, songwriter, poet and author, who was widely regarded as the foremost troubadour of the contemporary Norwegian ballad tradition.
Anita Skorgan is a Norwegian singer-songwriter. She represented Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1977 (14th), 1979 (11th) and with Jan Teigen in 1982 (12th). She was also a backing singer at the 1981 and 1983 contests, and co-wrote the 1988 Norwegian Eurovision entry "For vår jord", which placed fifth.
Petronella Barker is a British-born Norwegian actress. She was born in Colchester, England, but grew up in Fredrikstad, Norway. While still studying at the Theatre Academy in Oslo (1985–1988), she had her debut in the Soviet-Norwegian co-production Dragens fange. Her breakthrough as a movie actress came with the dystopic Sweetwater (1988), followed by Havet stiger.
The Holmenkollen Medal is an annual honorary skiing award that has been issued by the Skiforeningen in Norway since 1895. It recognizes the outstanding achievements of skiing athletes who place at the top of international championships and at Holmenkollen Ski Festival events, as well as those who contribute to advancement of the sport of skiing. The Holmenkollen Medal is considered Norwegian skiing highest honor.
Knut Nærum, is a Norwegian comedian, author, comics writer and TV-entertainer. He is best known for being one of the permanent panelists in the Norwegian show Nytt på nytt. On 23 April 2015, Nærum announced that he would step down from the show at the end of the season. Nærum was born in Arendal, but grew up in Halden, and attended high school in Grimstad. He later studied at the Agder Regional College and currently lives in Oslo with his wife and two children.
Marie Ragnhild Takvam was a Norwegian poet, novelist, writer of children's books, playwright and actress.
Maaemo is a three-Michelin-star restaurant in Oslo, Norway. The name Maaemo derives from the Finnish language, meaning "Mother earth". The restaurant works in the New Nordic Cuisine genre, and focuses on local food and only uses organic, biodynamic, or wild produce. Head chef is Danish Esben Holmboe Bang.
Glenn Roger Lyse is a Norwegian singer, songwriter and musician who won season 4 of the reality television show Idol on 21 December 2007. with other finalist Bjørn Johan Muri becoming runner-up.
Marte Maaland Eberson is a Norwegian keyboardist and composer, known from bands including Morning Has Occurred and Highasakite. She is the daughter of the guitarist Jon Eberson.
