The Jordan national football team represents Jordan in international football. It is under the jurisdiction of the Jordan Football Association. Jordan played five times in the Asian Cup. It reached the finals of a major tournament for the first time in the 2023 edition, finishing as runners-up.

The 1998 FIFA World Cup was the 16th FIFA World Cup, a quadrennial football tournament contested by the senior men's teams of the national associations affiliated to FIFA. The tournament was played in France from 10 June to 12 July 1998 and featured 32 teams divided into eight groups of four. Each team was required to submit a squad of 22 players – numbered sequentially from 1 to 22 – from whom they would select their teams for each match at the tournament, with the final squads to be submitted by 1 June 1998. In total, 704 players were selected for the tournament.
Silvia Edith Maria Neid is a German former professional football player and manager. She is one of the most successful players in German women's football, having won seven national championships and six DFB-Pokal trophies. Between 2005 and 2016, Neid served as the head coach of the Germany women's national team. She was the FIFA World Women's Coach of the Year in 2010, 2013 and 2016.

Jorge Vilda Rodríguez is a Spanish football coach and UEFA Pro Licence holder, who is currently the head coach of the Morocco women's national team, since 12 October 2023. Previously, he was the head coach of the Spain women's national football team from 2015 to 2023, winning the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup. He was also sporting director of the Spanish FA's (RFEF) women's national-team system and tactical instructor at their National Coaching School for much of the same period. He was fired from all roles on 5 September 2023 for his part of the Rubiales affair.
