Stepanakert, or Khankendi, is the de facto capital and the largest city of the breakaway Republic of Artsakh, de jure part of Azerbaijan, located within the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh. The city is located in a valley on the eastern slopes of the Karabakh mountain range, on the left bank of the Qarqarchay river.

Samvel Babayan Armenian general

Samvel Andraniki Babayan is an Armenian military commander and politician from Nagorno-Karabakh. He was one of the founders and main commanders of the Artsakh Defence Army during the First Nagorno-Karabakh War and became a hero among Armenians for the military victories achieved under his command.

Football Club Mika, commonly known as Mika, was an Armenian football club from the capital Yerevan. It was owned by the Mika Corporation LLC headed by the Russia-based Armenian businessman Mikhail Baghdasarov. The club headquarters were located on Manandyan street 41, Yerevan.

Artur Mkrtchyan

Artur Aslani Mkrtchyan was the first Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, elected on 7 January 1992. He made an important contribution to reinforcing the defensive capabilities of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, but was fatally shot under unclear circumstances in April 1992.

Aravot is a leading liberal and politically independent daily newspaper based in Yerevan, Armenia. It was founded in 1994. Its editor-in-chief is Aram Abrahamyan.

Presidential elections were held in Armenia on 22 September 1996. The result was a victory for Levon Ter-Petrosyan, who won 51.3% of the vote. Turnout was 60.3%.

Vano Siradeghyan Armenian politician and writer (1946–2021)

Vano Smbati Siradeghyan was an Armenian politician and writer. He held several high-ranked positions in the 1990s. He served as Minister of Internal Affairs from 1992 and 1996 and as Mayor of Yerevan from 1996 to 1998. After President Levon Ter-Petrosyan's resignation in February 1998, criminal charges were filed against Siradeghyan. He disappeared in April 2000 and was wanted by Interpol until his death in 2021 at the age of 74. Today, Siradeghyan is seen as one of the most influential and controversial figures of post-Soviet Armenia.

David Babayan

David Klimi Babayan is the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Artsakh. From 28 December 2013 he served as Head of the Central Information Department of the Artsakh Republic. He also served as the Deputy Chief of Staff in the office of the President of the Republic. On 26 May 2020, he was appointed as an adviser to the President on foreign relations. On 4 January 2021, Babayan was appointed the Minister of Foreign Relations taking over from Masis Mayilyan. He founded and currently leads the "Artsakh Conservative Party".

United Motherland, also known as United Homeland is a political party in the Republic of Artsakh. It was founded on 22 September 2019. Samvel Babayan is the party's founder and leader.

Masis Mayilyan Artsakhian politician

Masis Samveli Mayilyan is an Artsakhi politician, diplomat and former presidential candidate. He is currently serving as ambassador-at-large of the Republic of Artsakh. From September 2017 until January 2021, he served as the Foreign Minister of Artsakh.
