The 2011 Formula Pilota China season is the first season of the newly created Formula Pilota China series, which ran on regulations based on Formula Abarth. The championship began on 3 July at Guangdong and was finished on 27 November at Sepang after twelve races held at six meetings. Also series had non-championship round that held on 3 December at Sepang. [1]

9 teams fielded 26 drivers during the whole tour. [2]

Swiss-French driver, who participated under Czech racing license Mathéo Tuscher became the first Formula Pilota China Champion with 189 points after scoring nine podium finishes from twelve races with eight wins. His nearest competitor, Luis Sá Silva, took two wins during the whole season and managed second overall with 124 points. Third place went to Indonesian driver Dustin Sofyan, who also took Best Asian Driver Trophy.

Race calendar and results

The series' provisional schedule was released on 3 March 2011. [4] Latterly, the calendar was almost totally revised. Rounds in Zhuhai was dropped in favor of Shanghai Tianma, also series had non-championship round at Sepang. [1]

JK Racing Asia Series, formerly known as both Formula BMW Asia and Formula BMW Pacific, was a single-seater racing series based in Asia. Formula BMW Asia was created in 2003 as a replacement for Asian Formula 2000 and was under the management of Motorsport Asia Limited. It was renamed Formula BMW Pacific for the 2008 season. In 2011 the series lost BMW support but received JK Tyre sponsorship and was rebranded as JK Racing Asia Series.

The 2011 JK Racing Asia Series was the first season of the rebranded Formula BMW Pacific Series, which ran for seven seasons in Asia. Antonio Maria Giovinazzi is an Italian racing driver who currently competes in the 2023 FIA World Endurance Championship driving for Ferrari – AF Corse and also serves as the reserve driver for Scuderia Ferrari, Haas and Alfa Romeo Racing in Formula One. He was the 2015 FIA Formula 3 European Championship runner-up and raced with Prema in the 2016 GP2 Series, again finishing runner-up with five wins and eight overall podiums. He made his competitive debut for Sauber at the 2017 Australian Grand Prix, replacing the injured Pascal Wehrlein. The championship commenced on 10 May at Zhuhai in China and finished on 21 October at Shanghai in China after eighteen races held at six meetings.

Wei Fung Shaun Thong 唐偉楓 is a racecar driver from Hong Kong. Born in 1995, He is the 2017 Blancpain GT Series Asia Silver Cup champion and the 2020 Super Taikyu Series Champion. Thong is the first and only Chinese driver so far to win the Super Taikyu Series title in history. Thong began karting at the age of 14 and participated in various Asian Karting Championships including the Chinese Karting Championship (CKC), Asian Karting Open Championship (AKOC), Hong Kong Kart Club Championship (HKKC) and CIK KF1.

Aurélien Panis is a professional French racing driver. He is best known for being the son of the former Formula 1 driver, Olivier Panis. From 2017 he is one of the two drivers of Zengő Motorsport - the first non-Hungarian the team has fielded in the WTCC.

The 2015 Formula Masters China season is the fifth season of the Formula Pilota China series, and the third under the Formula Masters China branding. The championship began on 18 April at Sepang in Malaysia and will finish on 18 October at Shanghai in China after eighteen races held at six meetings.

The 2016 Formula Masters China season is the sixth season of the Formula Pilota China series, and the third under the Formula Masters China branding. The championship began on 21 May at Shanghai in China and will finish on 16 October at Penbay in Taiwan after fifteen races held at five meetings.

The 2017 Formula Masters Series season was the seventh and final season of the Formula Pilota China series, and the first under the Formula Masters Series branding. The championship began on 8 April at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia and finished on 24 September at the Shanghai International Circuit in China, after eighteen races held at five meetings.

The 2017–18 Formula 4 South East Asia Championship season was the second season of the Formula 4 South East Asia Championship. It began on 30 September 2017 at the Sepang International Circuit and finished on 15 April 2018 at the same venue, after 29 races held across five rounds on three countries.

The 2019 F3 Asian Championship was a multi-event, Formula 3 open-wheel single seater motor racing championship held across Asia. The championship featured a mix of professional and amateur drivers, competing in Formula 3 cars that conform to the FIA Formula 3 regulations for the championship. It was the second season of the championship.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Pinnacle Motorsport (Filipino auto racing team)</span> Irish-Filipino auto Racing Team

Pinnacle Motorsport is an Irish licensed, Philippines based motor racing team founded in 2016 by Irish former racers John O'Hara and Gary Thompson. Both have experience at Formula 3 level, the former a race winner in the Asian Formula Three series, and had tested for the A1 Team Ireland, the latter featuring in the Japanese F3 and 2013 F3 European series. While the team began using the PRT Racing name in the 2016 Formula Masters China series and 2016-17 Asian Le Mans Series sprint and endurance LMP3 events, they adopted the Pinnacle Motorsport name from the 2017 season onward. Further involvement in open wheel racing came in China F4 and F3 Asian series. However, both prior to their official formation and throughout their continued operations, Pinnacle have partnered with KCMG to operate many of their motorsport programs across Asia including the Blancpain GT Series Asia GT3Am, Audi R8 LMS Cup, FRD LMP3 Series, Asian Le Mans Series, Asian Formula Renault Series, and the aforementioned Formula Masters China series. A similar partnership also existed in F3 Asia with B-Max Racing.
