The 2008 Beijing Wushu Tournament was a wushu competition which was held from August 21 to 24, 2008 at the Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium in Beijing, China. The tournament was organised by the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games (BOCOG), the International Wushu Federation (IWUF), and the Chinese Wushu Association (CWA), and was held in tandem with the 2008 Summer Olympics.

Yuan Wenqing is a retired professional wushu taolu athlete from Shanxi, China. Nicknamed 'the prince of wushu,' he was known for his explosive speed and power, and is still widely regarded as one of the greatest wushu practitioners of all time. It has been said that in the sport of wushu, the 1970s belonged to Jet Li, the 1980s to Zhao Changjun, and the 1990s to Yuan Wenqing.

Wushu was contested by both men and women at the 1990 Asian Games in Haidian Gymnasium, Beijing, China from September 29 to October 4, 1990. The wushu competition consisted of three events: Changquan, Nanquan and tai chi, for both genders. The changquan combined event consisted of changquan, one long weapon discipline, and one short weapon discipline. The competition attracted 96 competitors from 11 nations.

The 2017 EAFF E-1 Football Championship will be the 6th edition of the women's tournament in EAFF E-1 Football Championship, the women's football championship of East Asia. It was held in Japan in 2017.

The International Invitational Wushu Championships, also known as the International Wushu Festivals, were a series of international wushu competitions held from 1985 until the formation of the International Wushu Federation (IWUF) in 1990. These competitions were the first ever international wushu competitions, and preceded the World Wushu Championships which started in 1991.

Nguyễn Thúy Hiền is a retired Vietnamese wushu athlete. Considered one of the greatest figures in wushu history and an icon of Vietnamese sports, she won seven world championships.

Nguyễn Mạnh Quyền is a former wushu taolu athlete from Vietnam. He is a triple-medalist at the World Wushu Championships and at the Southeast Asian Games. He is also a double-medalist at the Asian Games in the men's daoshu and gunshu event. In 2012, he was the Asian Champion in gunshu.

Hoàng Thị Phương Giang is a wushu taolu athlete from Vietnam. She made her international debut with a bronze medal victory at the 2011 Southeast Asian Games. Her most notable victories include a bronze medal in women's changquan at the 2018 Asian Games, and gold medals in the 2013 and 2017 Southeast Asian Games. Hoàng is also a five-time medalist in the World Wushu Championships, double bronze medalist in the Taolu World Cup, and double silver medalist in the Asian Wushu Championships.

Arvin Ting is a retired competitive wushu taolu athlete from the Philippines. He is most remembered for being a gold medalist at the World Wushu Championships and a silver medalist at the Asian Games while still being a teenager.
