The 2012 Colonial Athletic Association baseball tournament was held at Eagle Field at Veterans Memorial Park in Harrisonburg, Virginia, from May 23 through 26. The top six finishers from the regular season competed in the double-elimination tournament. Top seeded UNC Wilmington won their third title and earned the Colonial Athletic Association's automatic bid to the 2012 NCAA Division I baseball tournament. [2] [3]

Seeding and format

This was the first year of the six team format, as previous seasons consisted of a four team tournament. The top six teams from the regular season, based on conference winning percentage, made the field.

Most Outstanding Player

Jimmy Yezzo was named Tournament Most Outstanding Player. Yezzo was a first baseman for Delaware, and set a tournament record with 15 hits while batting .571, scoring ten runs, and driving in 11. [3]

They were able to successfully defend their title, as the top overall seed they defeated the second seed Monmouth 2–1 in overtime in the Final. The conference tournament title was the seventh overall for the Hofstra men's soccer program all of which have come under head coach Richard Nuttall. This was the third straight year that Hofstra won the CAA tournament. As tournament champions, Hofstra earned the CAA's automatic berth into the 2023 NCAA Division I men's soccer tournament.

The 2024 Coastal Athletic Association baseball tournament was held at Brooks Field in Wilmington, North Carolina, from May 22 through 26. The UNC Wilmington Seahawks won back-to-back titles and earned the conference's automatic bid to the 2024 NCAA Division I baseball tournament. This set a league-record eighth CAA baseball title for the Seahawks, their sixth since 2012.
