The 2012 Michigan Wolverines men's soccer team was the college's 13th season of playing organized men's college soccer. It was the Wolverines' 13th season playing in the Big Ten Conference.
In the 2011 regular season Michigan went 5–14–1 with a conference record of 1–5–0. [1] In the Big Ten Tournament Michigan lost to Wisconsin in the quarterfinals. [2] [3] The team did not advance to the NCAA Tournament.

The Michigan Wolverines comprise 29 varsity sports teams at the University of Michigan. These teams compete in the NCAA's Division I and in the Big Ten Conference in all sports except women's water polo, which competes in the NCAA inter-divisional Collegiate Water Polo Association. Team colors are maize and blue, though these are different shades of "maize" and "blue" from those used by the university at large. The winged helmet is a recognized icon of Michigan Athletics.
The 2009–10 Michigan Wolverines men's basketball team represented the University of Michigan during the 2009-10 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team was coached by John Beilein and played its home games in Ann Arbor, Michigan at the Crisler Arena, which has a capacity of 13,751, for the forty-third consecutive year. This season marked the team's ninety-third consecutive year as a member of the Big Ten Conference. The team finished the season with a 15–17 overall record and a 7–11 conference record, which was tied for seventh in the conference standings. It was seeded eighth in the single-elimination 2010 Big Ten Conference men's basketball tournament where it advanced one round. On October 16, Michigan was one of five Big Ten schools to begin its season by celebrating Midnight Madness.
The 2011 Big Ten Conference Tournament was the postseason tournament of the Big Ten Conference to determine the Big Ten Conference’s champion and automatic berth into the 2011 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship. The tournament was held at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman is an American professional basketball player for Darüşşafaka Lassa of the Basketbol Süper Ligi (BSL). He played college basketball for the Michigan Wolverines. Abdur-Rahkman played high school basketball for Allentown Central Catholic High School in his hometown of Allentown, Pennsylvania, where he was a four-time Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) Class AAA All-State selection.

The number 3 seeded Michigan defeated the number 4 seeded Penn State in the Big Ten Tournament Championship game 4 to 1 to win their first tournament championship.
