The 2012 Superettan, part of the 2012 Swedish football season, was the 13th season of Sweden's second-tier football league in its current format. The 2012 fixtures were released on 9 December 2011. [1] The season began on 6 April 2012 and ended on 3 November 2012.

Teams

A total of 16 teams contested the league, 12 returning from the 2011 season, two relegated from Allsvenskan and two promoted from Division 1. The top two teams qualified directly for promotion to Allsvenskan, the third had to play a play-off against the fourteenth from Allsvenskan to decide who will play in Allsvenskan 2013. The bottom two teams qualified directly for relegation to Division 1, the thirteenth and the fourteenth had to play a play-off against the numbers two from Division 1 Södra and Division 1 Norra to decide who will play in Superettan 2013.

2011-champions Åtvidabergs FF and runner-up GIF Sundsvall were promoted to the Allsvenskan at the end of the 2011 season. They were replaced by Halmstads BK and Trelleborgs FF. Västerås SK and Qviding FIF were relegated at the end of the 2011 season after finishing in the bottom two places of the table. They were replaced by Division 1 Norra champions Umeå FC and Division 1 Södra champions Varbergs BoIS.

Jörgen Pettersson replaced Henrik Larsson as manager in December 2012, and Georg "Rossi" Eterovic replaced Hans Eklund as assistant manager. The captain this season was Linus Malmqvist, with Fredrik Svanbäck as vice captain.

The 2013–14 Svenska Cupen was the 58th season of Svenska Cupen and the second season with the current format. The winners of the competition earned a place in the second qualifying round of the 2014–15 UEFA Europa League. If they had already qualified for European competition, the qualification spot would have gone to another team, determined by a number of factors.

The 2015 fixtures were released in December 2014. The season began on 3 April 2015 and ended on 1 November 2015. A total of 16 teams contested the league.

The 2015–16 Svenska Cupen will be the 60th season of Svenska Cupen and the fourth season with the current format. The winners of the competition will earn a place in the second qualifying round of the 2016–17 UEFA Europa League.

The 2015 season was Hammarby Fotboll's 100th in existence, and their 46th season in Allsvenskan. It was Hammarby's first season in Allsvenskan after spending 5 seasons in the Superettan. They competed in Allsvenskan and the Svenska Cupen during the season. Nanne Bergstrand returned to the team as his second season being manager. Gameplay for Hammarby in Svenska Cupen began on February 21, 2015, and ended on March 15, 2015. Gameplay for Hammarby in Allsvenskan began on April 4, 2015, and ended on October 31, 2015.

Kim Alexander Hellberg is a Swedish football manager who is the head coach of Hammarby IF in Allsvenskan. He previously played football at lower level as a midfielder.

The 2021 Allsvenskan was the 97th season since its establishment in 1924 of Sweden's top-level football league, Allsvenskan. A total of 16 teams participated. Malmö FF were the defending champions after winning the title in the previous season, and they defended the championship in the 30th and final round on 4 December 2021 and secured their 22nd Swedish championship title by playing a scoreless tie at home against Halmstads BK, resulting in Malmö FF winning the title on better goal difference than the runner-up (AIK). This was the first time the title was defended since 2017, and the third consecutive defense of the title that went to Malmö FF, having also defended the title in 2014.
