2012 Svenska Supercupen (Swedish Super Cup 2012) was the 6th edition Svenska Supercupen annual football match that Helsingborg (league and cup double-champions) successfully defended against league runners-up AIK. The match was staged on 24 March 2012 at Olympia, Helsingborg. [1] Svenska Supercupen is usually contested by the winners of the previous season's Allsvenskan and Svenska Cupen. However, Helsingborg won both titles in 2011, they faced the Allsvenskan runners-up AIK. This was the first match the two teams faced each other in Supercupen's existence: Helsingborgs third Supercupen appearance and AIKs second Supercupen appearance. This was the 2nd match involving a double champion team following a hiatus since 2010. Olympia hosted the final for the first time.

The match was broadcast live on TV4 Sport, of the TV4 Group. FIFA selected Markus Strömbergsson from Gävle as the match referee for the third consecutive game. [1] Helsingborg won the match 2–0 after two goals from Dutch midfielder Rachid Bouaouzan. This was Helsingborgs second consecutive Supercupen title in the competition and fifth consecutive title in Swedish football.

Allsvenskan is a Swedish professional league for men's association football clubs. It was founded in 1924 and is the top tier of the Swedish football league system, operating on a system of promotion and relegation with Superettan. 2010 'Svenska Supercupen' was the 4th edition Svenska Supercupen annual football match that AIK successfully defended against IFK Göteborg, 1-0. Svenska Supercupen is usually contested by the winners of the previous season's Allsvenskan and Svenska Cupen. However, AIK won both titles in 2009, they faced the Allsvenskan runners-up IFK Göteborg. The game was staged on 6 March 2010 at Råsunda Fotbollsstadion in Stockholm, the Swedish national football stadium and the home of AIK.

The 2011 Allsvenskan, part of the 2011 Swedish football season, was the 87th season of Allsvenskan since its establishment in 1924. The preliminary 2011 fixtures were released on 15 December 2010. The season began on 2 April 2011 and ended on 23 October 2011. Malmö FF were the defending champions, having won their 16th Swedish championship and their 19th Allsvenskan title the previous season.

The 2011 Svenska Cupen was the 56th season of Svenska Cupen, the main Swedish football Cup. It began on 5 March 2011 with the first match of the preliminary round and ended on 5 November with the Final. Helsingborgs IF won the cup after beating Kalmar FF 3–1 in the final, Helsingborg were also the defending champions. The winners of this competition earned a place in the second qualifying round of the 2012–13 UEFA Europa League, however the second round spot was awarded to Allsvenskan runners-up AIK since Helsingborg were already qualified for European cup play, Kalmar FF who were the runners-up of the cup were awarded AIKs previous qualification spot in the first round.

2011 Svenska Supercupen was the 5th edition of Svenska Supercupen annual football match that 2010 Supercupen winners Helsingborgs IF successfully defended its 2011 Supercupen against league winners Malmö FF, 2-1. The match was staged on 19 March 2011 at Swedbank Stadion, Malmö. The Supercupen match was Malmö FF's first appearance and Helsingborgs IF's second since its creation in 2007. Helsingborgs IF's Erik Sundin scored the winning goal in the 90th minute.

The 2011 Svenska Cupen final was played on 5 November 2011. Kalmar FF faced Helsingborgs IF. Kalmar FF qualified for the final by beating IFK Göteborg in the first semi-final on 14 September 2011, Helsingborgs IF qualified by beating Örebro SK in the second semi-final on 29 October 2011. Since Kalmar FF were drawn as the away team in the final, it was played at Olympia in Helsingborg. Kalmar FF played their first final since 2008 and were looking to secure their fourth cup title overall. Helsinborgs IF played their second consecutive final and won their second consecutive title and fifth title in total by winning the match 3–1.

The 2013 season was the 116th season of competitive football in Sweden. The competitive year started with the group stage of Svenska Cupen on 2 March. League competition started in early April with Allsvenskan on 31 March, Superettan on 6 April, Division 1 and lower men's leagues plus the Damallsvenskan on 13 April. Svenska Cupen ended with the final played at the national stadium Friends Arena on 26 May. Allsvenskan ended on 3 November, Superettan one day earlier on 2 November, Division 1 and lower men's leagues on 26 October and Damallsvenskan on 20 October. Qualification play-offs were held after the end of league play with the Allsvenskan play-offs being held on 7 and 10 November and the Superettan play-offs being held on 6 and 9 November. Svenska Supercupen was held on 10 November and was contested by the winner of Allsvenskan and Svenska Cupen. Sweden participated in qualification for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. 2013 Svenska Supercupen was the 7th edition Svenska Supercupen annual football match that 2013 Allsvenskan champions Malmö FF successfully achieve its first Supercupen title defeating the 2013 Svenska Cupen champions IFK Göteborg, 3-2. This marked the first time that Malmö FF won Svenska Supercupen.This match was the first time that the cup was held after the end of the standard league season. The match was staged on 10 November 2013 at Swedbank Stadion, Malmö; the second time it hosted. 2014 Svenska Supercupen was the 8th edition Svenska Supercupen annual football match that 2014 Allsvenskan champions Malmö FF successfully defeated 2014 Svenska Cupen champions IF Elfsborg]], 5-4. The match was staged on 9 November 2014 at Malmö Stadion, Malmö. The match was IF Elfsborg's second edition in the competition after a hiatus since 2007. It was Malmö FF's second consecutive and third successive appearances. This match was the first time that the competition was hosted at Malmö Stadion and was the first time the competition was hosted as an alternative home venue.

2015 Svenska Supercupen, was the 9th and last edition Svenska Supercupen annual football match contested by the winners of the previous season's Allsvenskan and Svenska Cupen competitions. The match was played on 8 November 2015 at the Nya Parken, Norrköping, between the 2015 Allsvenskan champions, IFK Norrköping, and the 2014–15 Svenska Cupen winners IFK Göteborg. The match was IFK Göteborg's fifth appearance in the competition and their first since 2013. It was the first appearance for IFK Norrköping.

The 2015 season was IFK Norrköping's 118th in existence, their 75th season in Allsvenskan and 5th consecutive season in the league. The club competed in 2015 Allsvenskan, 2014–15 Svenska Cupen and 2015–16 Svenska Cupen. The season began with 2014–15 Svenska Cupen group stage on 22 February, with 2015 Allsvenskan starting on 4 April. The league ended with the last match on 31 October 2015, in which they became league champions, and the last match of the season was 2015 Svenska Supercupen on 8 November where IFK Norrköping, as champions, met 2014–15 Svenska Cupen winners, IFK Göteborg.

The 2019 Allsvenskan, part of the 2019 Swedish football season, was the 95th season of Allsvenskan since its establishment in 1924. A total of 16 teams participated. AIK were the defending champions after winning the title in the previous season.
