The 2012 WSBL season was the 24th season of the Women's State Basketball League (SBL). The regular season began on Friday 16 March and ended on Saturday 28 July. The finals began on Friday 3 August and ended on Friday 31 August, when the South West Slammers defeated the Rockingham Flames in the WSBL Grand Final.

Regular season

The regular season began on Friday 16 March and ended on Saturday 28 July after 20 rounds of competition. An additional round was added in 2012 to lighten the travel load of regional teams. [1]

Due to an ineligible player taking part in an SBL qualifying game, the South West Slammers were deemed to have forfeited a round sixteen victory against the Wanneroo Wolves after they suited up a development player but failed to lodge a contract, player registration and proof of citizenship which are all documents required by the league before a player can take the court. [2]

Ryan Petrik is an Australian basketball coach who currently serves as head coach of the Perth Lynx of the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL). He started his coaching career as an assistant coach with the Rockingham Flames Men's SBL team before being elevated to the head coaching role of the Flames Women's SBL team, where over 10 seasons he guided them to three grand finals and two championships while earning WSBL Coach of the Year honours. Between 2015 and 2020, he served as an assistant coach with the Lynx, and between 2019 and 2022, he served as head coach of the Flames men's team. In 2022, he was named the WNBL Coach of the Year and guided the Flames men to the NBL1 West championship and NBL1 National championship.

The 2007 WSBL season was the 19th season of the Women's State Basketball League (SBL). The regular season began on Friday 30 March and ended on Saturday 4 August. The finals began on Friday 10 August and ended on Friday 7 September, when the Perry Lakes Hawks defeated the Stirling Senators in the WSBL Grand Final.
