South Korean Heo Kwang-hee won the gold medal after beating Wang Tzu-wei from Chinese Taipei 21–11, 21–12 in the final. It was first boys single gold medal for South Korea after 7 years.

Chen Long, is a Chinese former professional badminton player. He is the 2016 Olympic champion, two-time World champion, and an Asian champion.
Park Sung-hwan is a badminton player from South Korea. Park is the top-ranked men's singles player in South Korea and has succeeded at an international level, winning individual medals at both the 2010 World Championships and the 2010 Asian Games.

Soo Teck Zhi emerged as the champion after beat Jeon Hyuk-jin in the finals with the score 21–17, 13–21, 21–15.

Ihsan Maulana Mustofa is an Indonesian badminton player who plays in singles event. He is from PB. Djarum, a badminton club in Kudus, Central Java and has joined the club since 2010. He was a boys' singles bronze medalist of the 2013 World Junior Championships that was held in Bangkok, Thailand. He played in the decisive matches for Indonesia to win the team event at the 2015 and 2017 SEA Games.

The defending champion of the last edition was Zulfadli Zulkiffli from Malaysia. The top seeded Sameer Verma of India had lost in the semifinals to third seeded Kento Momota of Japan, while the second seeded Shesar Hiren Rhustavito from Indonesia, lost to Yuki Kaneko of Japan in fourth round. Momota finally emerged as the champion after beat Malaysian player Soong Joo Ven in the finals with the score 21–13, 22–20.
The 2017 Korea Masters Grand Prix Gold was a badminton tournament which took place at Yeomju Gymnasium in South Korea from 28 November to 3 December 2017 and had a total purse of $120,000.
Heo Kwang-hee is a South Korean badminton player who was educated at the Dankook University. He was selected to join the national team in 2012, and joined the Samsung Electro-Mechanics team in 2014. Heo was the bronze medalists at the 2012 World Junior Championships in the boys' singles and team event, and Asian Junior Championships in the team event. Heo later won the boys' singles and mixed team gold medals at the 2013 World Junior Championships, and the mixed team silver medal at the Asian Junior Championships. In the senior level tournament, Heo was the semi-finalists at the 2017 U.S. and 2018 New Zealand Open. He competed at the 2018 Asian Games and at the 2020 Summer Olympics, is best known for upsetting top-seeded Kento Momota in the group stage of the latter tournament.
The 2022 Korea Masters was a badminton tournament that took place at Gwangju Women's University Stadium in Gwangju, South Korea, from 12 to 17 April 2022 and had a total prize of $180,000.
