The 2013 Hong Kong–Shanghai Inter Club Championship was held on 5 November and 8 November 2012. The first leg will be played at Shanghai Stadium, Shanghai, China PR, with the second leg taken place at Mong Kok Stadium, Mong Kok, Hong Kong.

The Hong Kong–Shanghai Inter Club Championship is a competition between two clubs representing Hong Kong and Shanghai respectively. It was established in 2005.

Shanghai Stadium stadium

The Shanghai Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Shanghai. It is currently used mostly for football matches of Chinese Super League side Shanghai International Port Group FC.

Mong Kok Stadium stadium in Hong Kong

Mong Kok Stadium is a stadium in Mongkok, Kowloon, Hong Kong. With a capacity of 6,769, it hosts Hong Kong Premier League football matches, with Kitchee and Eastern currently ground-sharing the venue. The stadium is currently run by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of Hong Kong.

The Chinese Football Association Super League, commonly known as Chinese Super League or CSL, currently known as the China Ping An Chinese Football Association Super League for sponsorship reasons, is the highest tier of professional football in China, operating under the auspices of the Chinese Football Association (CFA).

Shanghai Dongya won 2–1 at home but was defeated by 0–1 in Hong Kong. Match ended in 2–2 after 90 minutes and extra time. Liu Stephen Garlock's penalty miss in the seventh round crowned Shanghai Dongya the champions of 2013 Hong Kong–Shanghai Inter Club Championship.

Hong Kong football representative team represented Hong Kong Team this year instead of Hong Kong League XI and 2008 Chinese third-tier league runners-up Guangdong Sunray Cave replaced Guangzhou FC as Guangdong Team to participate in this tournament.
