The 2007 IAAF World Cross Country Championships took place on March 24, 2007. The races were held at the Mombasa Golf Course in Mombasa, Kenya. The short race for men and women that was run between 1998 and 2006 was scrapped and the World Cross Country Championships went back to one-day format. The NACAC Cross Country Championships is an annual regional cross country running competition for athletes representing member nations of the North America, Central America and Caribbean Athletic Association (NACAC). The event was inaugurated in 2005 and was held in Florida, United States until 2009. The following two editions were held in Trinidad and Tobago.

The 2010 NACAC Cross Country Championships took place on March 6, 2010. The races were held at the Mount Irvine Bay Golf Course in Mount Irvine, Tobago, Trinidad and Tobago. The course was described to be generally flat with two inclines, one approximately 100m long, and the other 60m long. A detailed report of the event was given for the IAAF.

The 2011 NACAC Cross Country Championships was the seventh edition of the continental cross country running competition which took place on February 19 at Queen's Park Savannah in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. A total of 166 athletes took part in the event, hailing from a record high of 20 nations within the North America, Central America and Caribbean region.

The 5th NACAC Under-23 Championships in Athletics were held in Toluca, Mexico, at the Alberto "Chivo" Córdova Stadium at the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México on July 18–20, 2008. A detailed report on the results was given.
