The 2014 season was the Cincinnati Bengals' 45th in the National Football League (NFL), their 47th overall and their 12th under head coach Marvin Lewis. The Bengals qualified for the playoffs for the fourth consecutive season, but lost to the Indianapolis Colts in the wild card round, extending their playoff losing streak to seven games, the third-longest losing streak (in terms of games played) in NFL history at the time, behind the Detroit Lions and Kansas City Chiefs (8 each). ^[1]
