It was the 63rd edition of the event and part of the ATP World Tour 500 series of the 2015 ATP World Tour. It took place at the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, from April 20 through April 26, 2015.

This was the first edition of the tournament.

Players and pairs who neither have high enough rankings nor receive wild cards may participate in a qualifying tournament held one week before the annual Wimbledon Tennis Championships.

Milos Raonic was the defending champion, but chose not to participate this year.

Andy Murray was the defending champion, but chose not to participate.
David Ferrer won the title, defeating Steve Johnson in the final, 4–6, 6–4, 7–5.
