The 2015 World RX of Portugal was the first round of the second season of the FIA World Rallycross Championship. [1] The event was held at the Pista Automovel de Montalegre in Montalegre, close to the Spanish border.

The 2014 FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy was the first edition of the FIA World Rallycross Championship. The season consisted of twelve rounds and started on 3 May with the Portuguese round at Montalegre. The season came to end on 23 November, at San Luis, Argentina.

The World RX of Portugal is a rallycross event held in Portugal that formed part of the FIA World Rallycross Championship between 2014 and 2018. The event made its debut in the championship's inaugural 2014 season, at the Pista Automóvel de Montalegre in the northern town of Montalegre, close to the Spanish border. It was removed from the series calendar ahead of the 2019 season, marking the first time in the championship's history that the event was not run. The event was set to return in 2020 but was later cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On 12 May 2021; it was announced that the event will return in 2021 instead of the World RX of Norway as the final round of the calendar. For 2022 season Montalegre’s layout has been re-profiled, with the old joker lap now the first corner and a new, gravel joker from Turns Two to Five.

The 2015 FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy was the second season of the FIA World Rallycross Championship. The season consisted of thirteen rounds and started on 25 April with the Portuguese round at Montalegre. The season ended on 29 November, at Rosario, Santa Fe in Argentina.

The 2014 World RX of Portugal was the opening round of the 2014 FIA World Rallycross Championship and the first ever round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship. The event was held at the Pista Automóvel de Montalegre in the Portuguese border town of Montalegre. Four of the seven stages of the round, including the final, were won by 2003 WRC champion Petter Solberg, with the young guns Bakkerud and Nitišs rounding out the podium for Olsbergs MSE.

MJP Racing Team Austria is an auto racing team founded by Austrian racing driver and entrepreneur Max Pucher. The team has been competing in rallycross since its creation. The team uses Supercar specification Ford Fiesta built by MJP Racing. The cars were former built by Stohl Racing but before the 2016 season started Max Pucher separated his team from Stohl Racing and operates the cars by himself.

Centro Desportivo e Cultural de Montalegre is a Portuguese Sport and Football club based in the parish of Montalegre in the Vila Real District. Pista Automóvel de Montalegre is a motorsport race track situated in the municipality of Montalegre, in the Vila Real District of Portugal, close to the Spanish border. Before the 2022 World RX of Portugal, the layout was revised and lengthened.

The 2022 Lusorecursos World RX of Portugal was the fourth and fifth round of the ninth season of the FIA World Rallycross Championship. The event was double-header held at the new configuration of Pista Automóvel de Montalegre in Montalegre, Vila Real. Montalegre’s layout has been re-profiled this year, with the old joker lap now the first corner and a new, gravel joker from Turns Two to Five.
