The 2016–17 Tchadense season were in the island division of football (soccer). [1] The club again competed in the Premier Division in two seasons. The club finished sixth behind ADESBA and ahead of Travadores.

Associação Desportiva do Bairro Craveiro Lopes is a multisport club that had played in the Santiago Island South Zone League in Cape Verde. It is based in the capital city of Praia in the island of Santiago and plays in the stadium with a capacity of 8,000 The club never won a championship title, they have two cup titles. Its sports include football (soccer), basketball, futsal, similar to arena football and volleyball. Its current president Carlos Sena Teixeira and its manager is Daniel Cardoso who came in February 2017. Its nickname is canarinha which is Portuguese for the little canary.

CD Travadores association football club

Clube Desportivo Travadores is a football club in the Santiago South Premier Division in Cape Verde and are one of the unrelegated clubs of the Premier Division. It is based in the capital city of Praia, on the island of Santiago, and plays in a stadium with a capacity of 8,000. It is affiliated with S.L. Benfica and was the first Benfica affiliate in Cape Verde and the western part of West Africa. Its nicknames are indios and águias

The club scored 25 goals and had 7 wins, 7 ties, 8 losses and 28 points.

Santiago Island League (South)

The 2016-17 season started seventh. Their first match challenged a club who together came into the Premier Division Benfica, this was also their first challenge with each other, it ended in a scoreless draw on November 6. From seventh Tchadense climbed to first as they done their three match winning streak which defeated Vitória, Garridos and Travadores, [2] in the second match, Tchadense scored the season's first goal. [3] Tchadense's had a second draw of the season and the first with a goal with ADESBA, there M. Fernandes scored his recent goal. Tchadense defeated Celtic in the year's final match 0-1. [4] For a few weeks, João Paulino M. Fernandes was the leading scorer until January 2017 when Sportings' Mbutidem Sunday took it, M. Fernandes is still the club's leading scorer. Tchadense suffered their first loss of the season on January 6 to Desportivo, Tchadense made another scoreless goal, this time to Académica Praia on January 22. Tchadense's made another win on January 29 defeating Eugénio Lima, the club scored the year's first goal and became fourth. [5] Originally for January 13, the 8th round match was rescheduled to February 1 and the club lost to Boavista 1-0. Tchadense was first in January and at the 11th round, their positions dropped to 6th, Tchadense became 4th for the 8th round. Tchadense suffered a two match losing streak where they lost to the mighty Sporting, then to Benfica, each lost to two goals, the second was 2-1, they retained the sixth place position. On February 18, Tchadense defeated the ailing Vitória 3-1. [6] Three consecutive draws were made, the first two had a goal each, first with Garridos and there, the club picked up a position to fifth and then with Travadores on March 4 which was scored by João Paulino, a scoreless draw was made with Bairro [7] and their goal totals dropped from sixth to seventh, ahead of Celtic. Another loss was made, this time to Celtic and their position dropped to sixth where they remain for the next two round, two more losses were followed, first to Desportivo Praia then to Boavista, where their positions dropped to seventh where they are as of the 19th round. At the 17th round, Tchadense was seventh in goal scoring numbering 18 which became seventh after being surpassed by Celtic and equalled to the goals Tchadense conceded, at the 19th round, their goal totals now equalled to Celtic and the goals conceded with Benfica Praia's 6th alongside Benfica's but ahead of Eugénio Lima's of 24. Tchadense made a draw on April 7 with Académica with a total of three goals each, the club risen a position to sixth and has 25 points, the same points with Travadores, two losses less and 24 goals conceded, 14 less than Travadores, two of the goals were scored by João Paulino. Tchadense's goals scored was 22, soared up by one over Celtic and oppositely, its goals conceded is the sixth least, now fewer then Benfica's. In 8 matches, a win was made as they defeated Eugénio Lima and put that club in the 50/50 zone of a possible relegation and picked up a position, [8] fifth place, 28 points and 24 goals were shared with ADESBA, one of two goals scred was João Paulino. Tchadense conceded seven less than ADESBA's. Fifth place was their maximum position but lost it after another loss to Sporting Praia 1-3 and lost a position after ADESBA's win. Tchadense finished sixth with 28 points, 7 wins, 7 draws and scored 25, 7th overall ahead of Os Garridos. Tchadense conceded five less than ADESBA's.

Santiago South Zone Cup

Tchadense played a match at the Santiago South Zone Cup in late November, the club played in the First Round and lost 0-1 to Varanda and was out of the competition.
