The Mercyhurst Lakers women's ice hockey team is a college ice hockey program representing Mercyhurst University in NCAA Division I competition as a member of the Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) conference. They play in Erie, Pennsylvania at the Mercyhurst Ice Center, located on the Mercyhurst campus.
Brianne Lea McLaughlin is an American former ice hockey goaltender. During her career, she played for the United States women's national ice hockey team and the Buffalo Beauts of the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL).
The RIT Tigers women's ice hockey team is one of two college ice hockey teams representing Rochester Institute of Technology in suburban Rochester, New York. The team moved to NCAA Division I women's ice hockey as a member of College Hockey America (CHA) for the 2012–13 season, after many years at Division III as part of the ECAC West conference. The Tigers' conference affiliation was transferred to Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) following the merger of CHA and the Atlantic Hockey Association in April 2024.
Kelley Steadman is an American retired ice hockey player, currently serving as an ice hockey development ambassador for Lightning Made, the community hockey department of the Tampa Bay Lightning. As a member of the United States' women's national team, she won two IIHF World Women's Championship gold medals, in 2011 and 2013. She played with the Boston Blades of the Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL), Tornado Dmitrov of the Russian Women's Hockey League, and the Buffalo Beauts of the National Women's Hockey League.
The Mercyhurst Lakers women's hockey team represented Mercyhurst College in the 2012–13 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season. The Lakers were coached by Michael Sisti and advanced to the NCAA Frozen Four, before being defeated by Boston University 4-1 in the National Semifinal.
The Mercyhurst Lakers represented Mercyhurst University in CHA women's ice hockey during the 2014-15 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season. The Lakers were the regular season champions of the College Hockey America Conference (CHA), and lost the conference tournament final game to RIT.
Vilma Tanskanen is a Finnish retired ice hockey player. As a member of the Finnish national team, she won a bronze medal at the 2015 IIHF Women's World Championship and played in the 2016 IIHF Women's World Championship and the women's ice hockey tournament at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.
Amanda Makela is a women's ice hockey player. Having played at the NCAA level with the Mercyhurst Lakers women's ice hockey program, she was a member of the Buffalo Beauts during the 2015-16 NWHL season, the first in league history.
Lindsay Grigg is a Canadian ice hockey player. Having played at the NCAA level with the RIT Tigers women's ice hockey program, she was a member of the Buffalo Beauts of the National Women's Hockey League during the 2015–16 NWHL season, the first in league history. Grigg has also competed for the Canada women's national inline hockey team. For the 2016–17 season, Grigg has signed a contract to play with the HV71 club, part of Sweden's Riksserien league.
The Mercyhurst Lakers represented Mercyhurst University in CHA women's ice hockey during the 2015-16 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season. The Lakers were the regular season champions of the College Hockey America Conference (CHA), as well as the CHA Tournament Champions. They were defeated in the NCAA Championship Tournament by #2 Wisconsin.
Emily Janiga is an American ice hockey player currently playing for the Metropolitan Riveters in the Premier Hockey Federation.
The Syracuse Orange women represented Syracuse University in CHA women's ice hockey during the 2015-16 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season. The Orange finished conference play in second place, and advanced to the CHA Tournament Final, before losing to the Mercyhurst 4-3 in overtime. It was the second consecutive year that the Orange took the championship into overtime. Senior Melissa Piacentini was named CHA Player of the Year, while Nicole Renault was the CHA Defenseman of the Year.
The Robert Morris Colonials women represented Robert Morris University in CHA women's ice hockey during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season. The Colonials finished conference play in fourth place, and were eliminated in the semifinal of the CHA Tournament by Mercyhurst.
The 2016–17 Robert Morris Colonials women's ice hockey season was the twelfth season of the Robert Morris Colonials women's ice hockey program. The team represented Robert Morris University in the College Hockey America (CHA) conference during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season. The 2016–17 Colonials were the CHA regular season champions for first time in program history and won the CHA Tournament for the second time. They also appeared in the NCAA Tournament for the first time, falling to Wisconsin in the opening round.
Jessica Jones is a Canadian professional ice hockey player for PWHL Toronto of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). Jones was a member of the Canadian national under-18 team that competed at the inaugural IIHF Women's U18 World Championships in 2008. She was selected to compete in the 2017 CWHL All-Star Game, the third All-Star Game in her Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL) career.
Ashley Vesci is an American ice hockey player. Vesci played professionally for the Buffalo Beauts of the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL) during the 2016/17 season.
Brittany Howard is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. She played one season in the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) for PWHL Toronto. She played college ice hockey at Robert Morris and was the first Colonial player to win the CHA Player of the Year award.
The Mercyhurst Lakers represented Mercyhurst University in CHA women's ice hockey during the 2017-18 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season.
The Mercyhurst Lakers represented Mercyhurst University in CHA women's ice hockey during the 2019–20 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season. The Lakers were undefeated on home ice. Mercyhurst won the College Hockey America Tournament with a 2–1 overtime win over regular season champions, Robert Morris. The overtime victory came at 4:19 with a goal from Summer-Rae Dobson. As tournament champions, Mercyhurst earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament to determine the national championship. On March 12, 2020, the NCAA Tournament was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Taylor Accursi is a Canadian ice hockey forward who is currently a free agent. She most recently played in the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF) with the Boston Pride.
