It took place at the Edgbaston Priory Club in Birmingham, United Kingdom from 19 June until 25 June 2017. Petra Kvitová won the singles title.

Caroline Garcia was the defending champion, but lost in the semifinals to Daria Gavrilova.

Dominika Cibulková was the defending champion, but lost in the second round to Heather Watson.

Petra Kvitová defeated Garbiñe Muguruza in the final, 3–6, 6–3, 6–4 to win the singles tennis title at the 2018 WTA Qatar Open.

Laura Siegemund was the defending champion, but lost in the second round to CoCo Vandeweghe.

Kiki Bertens was the defending champion and successfully defended her title, defeating Elena Rybakina in the final, 6–1, 6–3. This would be Bertens' final WTA Tour singles title before her retirement in July 2021.

Aryna Sabalenka defeated Petra Kvitová in the final, 6–3, 6–3 to win the singles tennis title at the 2020 WTA Qatar Open.

Garbiñe Muguruza defeated Barbora Krejčíková in the final, 7–6(8–6), 6–3 to win the women's singles tennis event at the 2021 Dubai Tennis Championships. Muguruza dropped just one set during the tournament, to Aryna Sabalenka in the quarterfinals.

Ashleigh Barty defeated Jil Teichmann in the final, 6–3, 6–1 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2021 Cincinnati Masters. Barty did not drop a set en route to her first Cincinnati Masters title. It was her fifth and last title of the season, her third WTA 1000 title, and her 13th career WTA Tour singles title.
