Mayor Melandres de Sagun is term-limited. He withdrew his candidacy for Congressman of Seventh District after he was accused as the mastermind of the assassination of Vice Mayor Alexander Lubigan a few days after the assassination of Antonio Halili. His father, former Mayor Melencio de Sagun, Jr. is his party's nominee. His opponents are Lubigan's widow Gemma and Vice Mayor Denver Colorado who was elevated to the Vice Mayorship after Lubigan's assassination.

He was the representative of Cavite's 4th district in the House of Representatives of the Philippines from 2010 to 2016 and from 2019 until his death in 2024. This district exclusively covers the city of Dasmariñas and was carved out from the 2nd district, which he represented from 2007 to 2010. In addition to his legislative roles, he served as the mayor of Dasmariñas.

Jesus Crispin "Boying" Catibayan Remulla is a Filipino lawyer, politician, and broadcaster currently serving as Secretary of Justice since 2022. He previously served as the representative of Cavite's 7th district from 2019 to 2022, the position he previously held from 2010 to 2013, and was concurrently the House Senior Deputy Majority Leader. He also served as the provincial governor of Cavite from 2016 to 2019, and was the representative of the province's 3rd district from 2004 to 2010. He is also a radio host for "Executive Session" on DZRH. Remulla is one of the vocal opponents against ABS-CBN and is among the 70 congressmen who voted to reject the franchise renewal of ABS-CBN.

Juanito Victor "Jonvic" Catibayan Remulla Jr. is a Filipino politician serving as the governor of Cavite since 2019, previously holding the position from 2010 to 2016. He is a son of former governor Juanito Remulla Sr. and sibling of fellow politicians Gilbert and Jesus Crispin Remulla.

A special election was held in Cavite's 7th congressional district on February 25, 2023, to fill the district's vacant seat in the House of Representatives of the Philippines for the remainder of the 19th Congress.
