Incumbent Rhoderick Alcala is term-limited and is running for Vice Mayor. His son, Mark is his party's nominee. His opponents are incumbent councilor Sunshine Abcede and incumbent Board Member Romano Franco Talaga. [6] Incumbent Vice Mayor Philip Castillo died on February 19, 2022. He was substituted by Deric Castillo.

Angelina "Helen" de Luna Tan, is a Filipina physician and politician who is the incumbent governor of Quezon. She previously served as a three-term representative of Quezon's 4th district from 2013 to 2022 when she was elected in 2022 to become Quezon's governor, becoming the first woman to hold the office.

The mayor of Lucena is the head of the local government of the city of Lucena City, Quezon who is elected to three year terms. The Mayor is also the executive head and leads the city's departments in executing the city ordinances and improving public services. The city mayor is restricted to three consecutive terms, totaling nine years, although a mayor can be elected again after an interruption of one term.

Local elections were held in the province of Quezon on May 10, 2010, as part of the 2010 general election. Voters will select candidates for all local positions: a town mayor, vice mayor and town councilors, as well as members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, the vice-governor, governor and representatives for the four districts of Quezon.
