A total of 97 individuals manifested their intention to run for president, while 29 did so for vice president. [49]

The following have filed certificates of candidacies, formally notifying the commission that they are running, did not withdraw, and were not included in the tentative list of candidates released on December 24. These were either declared as nuisance candidates, were disqualified, or their candidacies cancelled.

Since the 2022 elections, Lakas–CMD is currently the biggest party in the House of Representatives, with the party's president, Martin Romualdez, serving as Speaker of the House. The party is a dominant member of the UniTeam Alliance led by President Bongbong Marcos.

The 2016 election of members to the Senate of the Philippines was the 32nd election of members to the Senate of the Philippines. The seats of 12 senators elected in 2010 were filled during this election. The winners in this election joined the winners of the 2013 election to form the 17th Congress of the Philippines. The senators elected in 2013 served until June 30, 2019, while the senators elected in this election would serve up to June 30, 2022.

Christopher Lawrence "Bong" Tesoro Go is a Filipino politician serving as a Senator since 2019. He previously served in the Cabinet of President Rodrigo Duterte as Special Assistant to the President and Head of the Presidential Management Staff from June 2016 to October 2018. Go has served as the personal aide and special assistant to Duterte since 1998, back when Duterte was still mayor of Davao City.

Partido Federal ng Pilipinas is a national political party in the Philippines. It is chaired by Bongbong Marcos, president of the Philippines who won by a landslide in the 2022 election. During the run-up to the 2022 general election, the UniTeam Alliance was formed by the PFP, Lakas–CMD, HNP, and PMP, with guest candidates from other parties.

A dispute within the PDP–Laban, the ruling party of the Philippines, began on March 12, 2021 when Senator Manny Pacquiao began to criticize President Rodrigo Duterte and the government regarding the dispute in the South China Sea, alleged corruption in the government agencies under the Duterte administration, the government handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and the endorsement of the candidates for the 2022 presidential election, leading to the creation of two factions.

The 2022 presidential campaign of Panfilo Lacson was announced in a televised launch on September 8, 2021, along with his running mate Tito Sotto. Panfilo Lacson is a three-term senator of the Philippines and former chief of the Philippine National Police, while Sotto is a four-term senator currently serving as the senate president of the Philippines since 2018.

The 2022 presidential campaign of Manny Pacquiao formally began on October 1, 2021, when Manny Pacquiao filed his candidacy for the 2022 Philippine presidential election. He has been a Senator of the Philippines from June 30, 2016 to June 30, 2022 and was previously a member of the House of Representatives, representing the Sarangani lone district.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Leni Robredo 2022 presidential campaign</span>

The 2022 presidential campaign of Leni Robredo began on October 7, 2021, when she filed her candidacy for the 2022 Philippine presidential election. At the time of her filing, Leni Robredo was the incumbent vice president of the Philippines, to remain so until June 30, 2022. Robredo was also formerly a representative of Camarines Sur's 3rd congressional district, from 2013 to 2016.

The party of President Rodrigo Duterte, PDP–Laban, had two candidates to succeed the head executive. These were senators Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa and Christopher "Bong" Go who had non-simultaneous presidential campaigns.
