The 2019 M*League Division 1, played between top-level football club in the Northern Mariana Islands, consists of two tournaments: the Spring League and the Fall League. [1]

Teams

A total of seven teams competed in the league. MP United, which won the 2018 Spring League, did not compete, and were replaced by Teen Ayuyu, which are the national U-18 team. The 2018 Fall League was abandoned due to the damages caused by Typhoon Yutu.

Northern Mariana Islands national football team

The Northern Mariana Islands national football team represents the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands in international men's football. The team is controlled by the governing body for football in the Northern Mariana Islands, the Northern Mariana Islands Football Association, which is a member of the East Asian Football Federation (EAFF) and since December 2020 a full member of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). The association is not a member of the world governing body FIFA and so while the national team is eligible to enter AFC and EAFF-run competitions, they are currently ineligible for global competitions such as the FIFA World Cup. As such, they do not have an official FIFA ranking. However, the team have been consistently ranked as one of the worst teams in the world on the Elo ratings and were in fact, in July 2016 rated as the worst men's senior international team in the world in a ratings system that also includes a number of other non-FIFA teams. Following the completion of the preliminary qualifying round for the 2017 EAFF East Asian Cup the team have won only one official competitive match against international opposition and have a goal difference of −78 in official matches. The team have never qualified for the finals of a major tournament and beyond friendlies and qualifying matches, their only official competition has been in an exhibition tournament in the regional Micronesian Games in 1998, which they won, to date their only tournament success.

M*League Division 1 Football league

The M*League is the men's top level professional football competition of the Northern Mariana Islands Football Association. It was an invitational league in the Northern Mariana Islands. The league has been operating since 2005 and grew to include eight teams in the 2010 competition. On 2 August 2012 the competition was re-branded as the M*League, following the suit of many other AFC national competitions.

The 2008 Northern Mariana Championship was the third season of top-flight football in Northern Marianas Islands. The league was divided into two parts, the Winter League and the Fall League. The Winter League was won by Fiesta Inter Saipan, who also won the Fall League under their new name, Inter Godfather's.

Lee Young-moo is a retired South Korean football player. He didn't have a great talent or physique, but he was the most active South Korean footballer of all time. He was noted for his tremendous work rate, and an unofficial record that he moved about 20 kilometers in a match is also remaining. He was situated as an attacking midfielder in the starting line up, but his actual role was difficult to sort due to his work rate which moved wide scope and took part in both the attack and the defense. He is a committed Christian and always did prayer ceremonies when he scored goals. His religious belief also helped his stamina and diligence. He won nine Asian titles with the national team, including the 1978 Asian Games.

Kim Jae-han is former South Korean football player. He played as a target man by utilizing his height, jumping skills and positional sense. He also had confidence to find the spot where the ball will fall. Kim participated competitions of various sports during his early life. He decided to be a baseball player in Daegu High School, but his baseball team was disbanded while he attended the high school. He changed his career path to be a footballer and spent his youth career in Seonggwang High School and Konkuk University. After the university graduation, Kim joined Korea Housing Bank FC. In 1972, his team won four national top-tier trophies and he was selected for the South Korea national team for the first time. He was picked in the South Korea squad for the 1974 FIFA World Cup qualification. He scored against Thailand and Hong Kong which helped South Korea reached to the final round. The aggregate score of the final against Australia was tied despite his goal, and South Korea lost in the replay match by 1–0. Kim scored 33 goals in the national team with 58 caps. He won four Pestabola Merdekas, two Korea Cups and two King's Cups with his team.

The 2019 Canadian Premier League season was the inaugural season of the Canadian Premier League, the top level of Canadian professional soccer. The regular season began on April 27 and ended on October 19, with seven teams competing. The inaugural match of the Canadian Premier League took place between Forge FC and York9 at Tim Hortons Field on April 27, 2019, which ended in a 1–1 draw.

NMI Museum of History and Culture

The NMI Museum of History and Culture, also known as the NMI Museum, is a museum in Garapan, Saipan hosting exhibitions about the Chamorro and Carolinian people and also displays artifacts, documents, textiles, and photographs from the Spanish, German, Japanese, and American periods in the Northern Mariana Islands. The museum has repatriated a significant number of historic objects from the Marianas that were held nationally and internationally in private collections and by foreign museums, companies, and militaries. More than one million dollars has been invested in its collections. The historical buildings on the grounds have been renovated to preserve them, prevent further deterioration, and safeguard visitors. The museum is located across from Sugar King Park.
