The 2019 Women's European Baseball Championship was an international baseball tournament for women organized by Confederation of European Baseball. The 2019 European Championship was held in July and August 2019 in Rouen, France. The winner qualified for 2020 Women's Baseball World Cup. [1]

The European Baseball Championship is the main championship tournament between national baseball teams in Europe, governed by the Confederation of European Baseball (CEB).

Frédéric Hanvi is a French baseball player, having played for several junior national teams in France, and for several French pro teams before being scouted by Major League Baseball. He was signed to a seven-year Minor League Contract with the Minnesota Twins organization. He is the second French player to be signed to a Major League contract after Joris Bert. The Twins have also promised to free him to play with Team France during official competitions. He is currently a free agent. He played for Team France in the 2019 European Baseball Championship.

Sébastien Neumann is a French baseball player currently playing for the Tigres de Toulouse in the Division Elite. He has also appeared in numerous international tournaments. He is playing for Team France in the 2019 European Baseball Championship.
Lieke Wevers is a Dutch artistic gymnast. She was the first Dutch woman to win a European title in gymnastics: at the 2015 European Games, she won the gold medal on the balance beam and was the bronze medalist with the Dutch team, in the individual all-around, and on floor exercise. She competed at the 2016, 2020, and 2024 Summer Olympics, qualifying for the all-around finals in 2020.

As Paris will host the 2024 Summer Olympics, France was the penultimate nation to enter the stadium, alongside the United States which will host the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, before the host country Japan during the parade of nations at the opening ceremony. Additionally, a French segment was performed in Paris and some pre-recorded events at the closing ceremony as performers did not travel to Tokyo due to the travel restrictions related to the pandemic. However, Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo was the only delegation present at the ceremony.

An analysis by Michelina Manzillo reports that Italy ranked as the top country in the European Union for the number of medals won at the Tokyo Paralympic Games.

The tournament serves as qualifier for the Baseball5 World Cup, with the top two teams qualifying for the world championship. France and Lithuania are the most successful teams, having won the championship once.
