The qualifying competition for the 2020 CONCACAF Men's Olympic Qualifying Championship determined five of the eight teams of the final tournament. Players born on or after 1 January 1997 were eligible to compete in the tournament.
A total of 25 CONCACAF teams (out of 41) entered Olympic qualifying, with 22 involved in regional qualifiers for the final tournament. The entrants were divided into three zones:

The draw for the Caribbean preliminary round took place on 17 April 2019, 11:00 EDT (UTC−4), at the CONCACAF Headquarters in Miami. [1] [2] The sixteen teams which entered the Caribbean preliminary round were drawn into four groups of four teams. Based on the FIFA World Rankings (as of 4 April 2019), [3] the sixteen teams were distributed into four pots, with teams in Pot 1 assigned to each group prior to the draw, as follows: [4]

Each tie was played as a single match, with the higher-ranked team according to the seeding used for the preliminary round draw hosting the match.

Each tie was played as two-legged home-and-away matches, with the higher-ranked team according to the seeding hosting the second leg.
The first legs were played on 17 July, and the second legs were played on 21 July 2019. [5] Winners qualified for the 2020 CONCACAF Men's Olympic Qualifying Championship.

There will be a qualification held to determine the two qualifiers from the Caribbean and three from Central America who will join Canada, Mexico and the United States at the final tournament.
The 2012 CONCACAF Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament qualification determined five of the eight teams for the final tournament.
The qualifying competition for the 2010 Caribbean Championship was a football tournament held from 2 October to 14 November 2010 to determine the qualifying teams for the 2010 Caribbean Championship. 21 teams entered the qualifying competition, with six teams qualifying for the final tournament. The tournament was played over two rounds. In the first round, the 15 lowest ranked teams competed in three groups of four and one group of three in a round-robin. The winners of the four groups and the two best runners-up of the three groups of four advanced to the second round. In the second round, the six qualifying teams from the first round joined the second through seventh highest ranked teams from the 2008 Caribbean Championship to compete in three groups of four in a round-robin. The two best teams from each group advanced to join Martinique and Jamaica in the final tournament.
The qualifying competitions for the 2015 CONCACAF U-20 Championship were handled by two regional of CONCACAF's bodies; the Caribbean Football Union and the Central American Football Union.

The Dominican Republic national under-23 football team represents the Dominican Republic in tournaments and friendly matches at the Under-23 level. They have appeared in one CONCACAF Men's Olympic Qualifying Championship in 2020 as they had debuted, but the matches which were suspended due to the Coronavirus outbreak. The matches for the 2020 CONCACAF Men's Olympic Qualifying Championship will be played in Spring 2021 for qualification in the 2020 Summer Olympics.
