The 2020 MLS Expansion Draft was a special draft for the Major League Soccer expansion team Austin FC that was held on December 15, 2020. The list of players available for selection was released on December 14, 2020. [1]
Teams who had players selected in the 2019 MLS Expansion Draft are exempt. These teams were Atlanta United FC, FC Cincinnati, Columbus Crew, Los Angeles FC, Minnesota United FC, New England Revolution, New York City FC, Portland Timbers, Seattle Sounders FC, and Sporting Kansas City. All other teams returning from the 2020 season were subject to the draft. These teams had 12 protection slots that they could apply to any draft eligible player on their senior, supplemental, and reserve rosters. Players who have not graduated from Generation Adidas, and homegrown players age 25 and under as of the end of the 2020 season were not eligible for the draft. Players with contracts expiring at the end of the season, designated players, and players with no-trade clauses were part of a team's roster and were eligible for the draft. In the case of player's with no-trade clauses, a team had to use one of their protection slots for that player. If a team had a players selected in the draft, that team became exempt from any further picks in the draft. The expansion team, Austin FC was given 5 picks for the draft. [2]

The 2011 Seattle Sounders FC season was the club's third season in Major League Soccer, the United States' top-tier of professional soccer. It was the Sounders FC organization's third year of existence; including all previous clubs, it was the 31st season of a soccer team bearing the Sounders name.
The 2011 MLS SuperDraft was the twelfth annual SuperDraft presented by Major League Soccer. It was held on January 13, 2011 in Baltimore, Maryland, during the 2011 NSCAA Convention at the Baltimore Convention Center. The 2011 SuperDraft consisted of three rounds with eighteen selections each, for a total of 54 players selected during the draft. The draft preceded the 2011 MLS season.
The two-stage 2011 MLS Re-Entry Draft took place on December 5, 2011 and December 12, 2011. All 19 Major League Soccer clubs participated.
The two-stage 2012 MLS Re-Entry Draft took place on December 7, 2012 and December 14, 2012. All 19 Major League Soccer clubs were eligible to participate.
The 2014 MLS Expansion Draft was a draft for the Major League Soccer expansion teams New York City FC and Orlando City SC that took place between November 19 and December 10, 2014. The first two rounds of the draft were held to distribute players who were formerly contracted with Chivas USA, which was dissolved by the league in October 2014 shortly after the end of the 2014 MLS season.

The 2019 MLS Expansion Draft was a special draft for the Major League Soccer expansion teams Inter Miami CF and Nashville SC that was held on November 19, 2019. On October 6, 2019, Inter Miami CF won the coin toss for the Expansion Priority Draft, and chose to select first in the 2019 MLS Expansion Draft. Lists of protected rosters and draft-eligible players were released by MLS on November 16, 2019.

Previously, the SuperDraft had been held in conjunction with the annual January United Soccer Coaches convention.

The 2020 SuperDraft was the first held exclusively via conference call and web streaming. The Draft was once again held virtually, and began on January 21, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time, and consisted of three rounds. Compensatory picks were conveyed to teams that received fourth-round picks via trades.

It was held on December 21, 2022, becoming the first SuperDraft to be held in December, but retained the 2023 branding. The draft was conducted via conference call and streamed online. Previously, the SuperDraft had been held in conjunction with the annual January United Soccer Coaches convention.
The 2021 MLS Expansion Draft was a special draft for the Major League Soccer expansion team Charlotte FC that was held on December 14, 2021. The list of exposed players was revealed on December 13, 2021. The picks were made on December 14, 2021 at 7:00 PM ET with Charlotte selecting McKinze Gaines, Anton Walkes, Joseph Mora, Tristan Blackmon, and Ismael Tajouri-Shradi.
The 2022 MLS Expansion Draft was a special draft for the Major League Soccer expansion team St. Louis City SC that was held on November 11, 2022. The list of exposed players was revealed on November 10, 2022. The picks were made on November 11, 2022, at 6:30 PM ET with St. Louis City SC selecting Nicholas Gioacchini, Indiana Vassilev, Jonathan Bell, John Nelson, and Jake LaCava.
The 2020 MLS Re-Entry Draft took place on December 17, 2020 and December 22, 2020. All 27 Major League Soccer clubs were eligible to participate. The priority order for the MLS Re-Entry Draft was reverse order of playoff finish in 2020, taking into account their regular season finish. The 2021 expansion team, Austin FC, received the last overall selection.
The 2021 MLS Re-Entry Draft took place on December 17, 2021 and December 23, 2021. All 28 Major League Soccer clubs were eligible to participate. The priority order for the MLS Re-Entry Draft was reverse order of playoff finish in 2021, taking into account their regular season finish. The 2022 expansion team, Charlotte FC, received the last overall selection. Teams had the option of passing on their selection.
The 2022 MLS Re-Entry Draft was conducted in two stages, as it has been in previous years. Stage 1 took place on November 17, 2022, and Stage 2 took place on November 22, 2022. All 28 existing Major League Soccer club and its newest expansion club St. Louis City SC took place in the 2022 MLS Re-Entry Draft. The draft order was set in reverse order of the 2022 Major League Soccer season standing after completion of the 2022 MLS Cup Playoffs. Because St. Louis City SC did not participate in the 2022 MLS season, they would have the last position in the 2022 MLS Re-Entry Draft. Teams have the option to decline a selection throughout the draft.
