The club returned to competition in USL League One after withdrawing from the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to COVID-19 travel restrictions in Canada, Toronto FC II would begin the season playing home matches in the United States, playing their first three home matches at Grande Sports World in Casa Grande, Arizona before relocating to Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, Florida.       The 2022 Tormenta FC season was the club's seventh season of existence, and their fourth season as a professional club, all of which have been spent in the third tier of American soccer in USL League One. This will be the club's first season in their new stadium, Optim Health System Field, after spending previous seasons at Eagle Field on the campus of Georgia Southern University.

      The 2022 Chattanooga Red Wolves SC season was the fourth season in the soccer team's history, all of which they've competed in USL League One, a league in the third division of American soccer. They will play their home games at CHI Memorial Stadium in East Ridge, Tennessee. This will be their third season playing for manager Jimmy Obleda. Chattanooga Red Wolves are coming off of a 3rd-place finish from last season, the most successful season in the club's history at the time.

      The 2022 Greenville Triumph SC season was the fourth season in the soccer team's history, all of which they've competed in USL League One, a league in the third division of American soccer. They will play their home games at Legacy Early College Field. John Harkes will be managing the club for his fourth season. Greenville finished in 2nd-place the previous season, losing the 2021 final to Union Omaha.
