Nadiia Viktorivna Kichenok is a Ukrainian professional tennis player. On 31 January 2022, she reached a career-high of No. 29 in the WTA doubles rankings. Kichenok has won nine doubles titles on the WTA Tour, including four with her twin sister Lyudmyla. She has also won four singles titles and 24 doubles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit. On 6 January 2014, she also reached a career-high singles ranking of No. 100.
Margarita Gasparyan and Alexandra Panova were the defending champions, but Gasparyan could not participate due to injury. Panova teamed up with Evgeniya Rodina, but they retired in the first round against Demi Schuurs and Renata Voráčová.
Shuko Aoyama and Makoto Ninomiya were the defending champions, but Aoyama chose not to participate. Ninomiya partnered Akiko Omae, and lost in the quarterfinals to Eri Hozumi and Valeria Savinykh.
Raluca Olaru and Olga Savchuk were the defending champions, but lost in the quarterfinals to Veronika Kudermetova and Aryna Sabalenka.
Chan Hao-ching and Latisha Chan were the defending champions, but Latisha Chan chose not to participate this year. Chan Hao-ching played alongside Tímea Babos, but lost in the semifinals to Nao Hibino and Oksana Kalashnikova.
Ashleigh Barty and Casey Dellacqua were the defending champions, but Dellacqua retired from professional tennis in February 2018, and Barty decided not to participate.
Abigail Spears and CoCo Vandeweghe were the defending champions, but chose not to participate this year.
Duan Yingying and Han Xinyun were the defending champions, but did not participate this year.
Mihaela Buzărnescu and Raluca Olaru were the defending champions, but Buzărnescu chose not to participate this year. Olaru played alongside Darija Jurak, but lost in the semifinals to Daria Gavrilova and Ellen Perez.
Tímea Babos and Kristina Mladenovic defeated Duan Yingying and Zheng Saisai in the final, 6–2, 6–3 to win the women's doubles tennis title at the 2019 French Open.
Shuko Aoyama and Ena Shibahara were the defending champions, but they decided not to participate this year.
Ashleigh Barty and Jennifer Brady defeated Desirae Krawczyk and Bethanie Mattek-Sands in the final, 6–4, 5–7, [10–5], to win the doubles tennis title at the 2021 Stuttgart Open. By winning her 12th career WTA Tour doubles title, Barty became the first player since Lindsay Davenport in 2001 to sweep both tournaments in Stuttgart. This was also Brady's first career WTA Tour doubles title.
Lyudmyla Kichenok and Makoto Ninomiya defeated Caroline Dolehide and Storm Sanders in the final, 6–4, 6–7(3–7), [10–8], to win the women's doubles tennis title at the 2021 Nottingham Open. Though it was their first title together as a team, it marked Kichenok's fifth career doubles title on the WTA Tour and Ninomiya's third.
Darija Jurak and Andreja Klepač defeated Nadiia Kichenok and Raluca Olaru in the final, 6–3, 6–1, to win the doubles tennis title at the 2021 Bad Homburg Open. It marked Jurak's eighth career WTA Tour doubles title, her second of the season, and Klepač's ninth.
The 2021 Chicago Women's Open was a tennis tournament held in Chicago, Illinois for female professional tennis players, and part of the 2021 WTA Tour. It was played on outdoor hard courts in the week prior to the 2021 U.S. Open. This marked the first time since 1997 that a WTA tournament was held in Chicago.
Anna Kalinskaya and Caty McNally defeated Alicja Rosolska and Erin Routliffe in the final, 6–3, 6–7(5–7), [10–4] to win the doubles tennis title at the 2022 St. Petersburg Ladies' Trophy.
Gabriela Dabrowski and Giuliana Olmos defeated Desirae Krawczyk and Demi Schuurs in the final, 7–6(7–1), 5–7, [10–7] to win the women's doubles tennis title at the 2022 Madrid Open. This was Dabrowski's third consecutive final at the tournament, having lost the previous two editions in 2021 and 2019.
Veronika Kudermetova and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova defeated reigning champion Giuliana Olmos and partner Gabriela Dabrowski in the final, 1–6, 6–4, [10–7] to win the women's doubles tennis title at the 2022 Italian Open.
Eri Hozumi and Makoto Ninomiya defeated Alicja Rosolska and Erin Routliffe in the final, 6–4, 6–7(5–7), [10–5] to win the doubles tennis title at the 2022 Bad Homburg Open.
Barbora Krejčíková and Kateřina Siniaková defeated the defending champion Elise Mertens and her partner Zhang Shuai in the final, 6–2, 6–4 to win the ladies' doubles tennis title at the 2022 Wimbledon Championships. It was their second Wimbledon title together and fifth major title together overall.
