The 2021 Southeastern Conference Softball Tournament, played for the 2021 Southeastern Conference softball season, was a postseason softball tournament that determined the 2021 champion of the Southeastern Conference. It was held at Rhoads Stadium on the campus of the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama from May 11–15, 2021. As the tournament winner, the University of Alabama. earned the Southeastern Conference's automatic bid to the 2021 NCAA Division I softball tournament. The championship game, as well as the semifinals, were broadcast on ESPN2, while all other tournament games were televised on the SEC Network. [3] [4]

Stacey Lauren Nelson is an American, former collegiate All-American, retired right-handed softball pitcher, originally from Los Alamitos, California. She played for the Florida Gators softball team from 2006-2009, leading the University of Florida to its first Women's College World Series berth in 2008 and a national runner-up appearance in the 2009 Women's College World Series. Nelson was also the 13th pick in the 2009 National Pro Fastpitch's draft by the defunct Washington Glory. Nelson pitched for the United States women's national softball team in 2009 and 2010 before attending law school at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. She is the Florida career record holder wins, ERA, shutouts and innings pitched. She also ranks all-time in several career categories in the Southeastern Conference and the NCAA Division I.

The Tennessee Lady Volunteers softball team represents the University of Tennessee (UT) in Knoxville, Tennessee in NCAA Division I women's softball competition. Montana Fay Fouts is an American softball pitcher for the United States women's national softball team. A four-time All-American pitcher at the University of Alabama, she is best known for pitching a perfect game against UCLA in the 2021 Women's College World Series.

One notable highlight of the season was the program's first ever 7-inning perfect game thrown by Maribeth Gorsuch in a 4-0 victory over the Belmont Bruins on February 22, 2020.

The 2023 SEC softball season began play Thursday, February 9, and conference play began on Friday, March 10. Tennessee clinched the regular season conference championship on May 6. Tennessee also won the 2023 Southeastern Conference softball tournament which took place from May 9–13 at Bogle Park in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Vanderbilt University is the only full member of the Southeastern Conference to not sponsor a softball program. Of the 13 teams in the SEC, 12 played in the NCAA tournament. Of the top 16 seeds hosting Regionals, five are from the SEC. Three of the five win their Regionals, being the only SEC teams to win Regionals. Two of the three win their Super Regionals and advance to the 2023 Women's College World Series (WCWS).

All tournament games were televised on the SEC Network, with the semifinals and championship game broadcast on ESPN2 and ESPN, respectively.

The winner of the tournament, will earn the Southeastern Conference's automatic bid to the 2024 NCAA Division I Softball Tournament. All 12 tournament games will be televised on the SEC Network.
