The 2021 season was South East Stars' second season, in which they competed in the 50 over Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy and the new Twenty20 competition, the Charlotte Edwards Cup. The side finished fifth in the group stage of the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy, winning three of their seven matches. [1]
In the Charlotte Edwards Cup, the side finished top of Group A, winning five of their six matches, therefore progressing directly to the final. [2] There, they played Northern Diamonds, who made 138/4 batting first. In response, a 71-run opening partnership from Bryony Smith and Aylish Cranstone along with 40* from 26 balls from Player of the Match Alice Capsey ensured the side won by 5 wickets to become the inaugural winners of the tournament. [3]
The side was captained by Tash Farrant, with Bryony Smith standing-in whilst Farrant was away with England. [4] They were coached by the newly appointed Johann Myburgh. [5] They played four home matches at the County Ground, Beckenham, as well as one apiece at The Oval, the St Lawrence Ground and Woodbridge Road, Guildford. [6] [7]
South East Stars announced their initial 19-player squad on 24 May 2021. [8] Alexa Stonehouse was promoted to the senior squad from the Academy on 25 June 2021. [9] Ryana MacDonald-Gay was promoted to the senior squad from the Academy on 30 August 2021. [10] Age given is at the start of South East Stars' first match of the season (29 May 2021).

The Southern Vipers are a women's cricket team that represent the South of England. The Vipers wear an orange and black kit and play their home matches at the Ageas Bowl and the County Cricket Ground, Hove.
The 2020 Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy was the first edition of the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy, an English women's cricket domestic competition, which took place between 29 August and 27 September 2020. It featured eight teams in two groups, and had a final. The tournament was named after former England captain Rachael Heyhoe Flint, Baroness Heyhoe-Flint, who died in 2017.

The 2021 season was Northern Diamonds' second season, in which they competed in the 50 over Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy and the new Twenty20 competition, the Charlotte Edwards Cup, finishing as runners-up in both competitions. The side finished second in the group stage of the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy, therefore progressing to the play-off, where they beat Central Sparks by 6 wickets. In the final, they played Southern Vipers in a repeat of the previous year's final. Batting first, Diamonds made 183, but lost by 3 wickets after reducing Vipers to 109/7.
The 2020 season saw Southern Vipers compete in the new 50 over Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy following reforms to the structure of women's domestic cricket in England. The side topped the South Group of the competition, winning all six of their matches, therefore progressing to the final, where they played Northern Diamonds. The Vipers went on to become the inaugural winners of the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy as they won by 38 runs, with bowler Charlotte Taylor taking 6/34. Taylor was the leading wicket-taker in the tournament, with 15 wickets, whilst Vipers captain Georgia Adams was the leading run-scorer, with 500 runs.

The 2021 season was North West Thunder's second season, in which they competed in the 50 over Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy and the new Twenty20 competition, the Charlotte Edwards Cup. The side finished seventh in the group stage of the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy, winning three of their seven matches. In the Charlotte Edwards Cup, the side finished third in Group B, winning two of their six matches, with one ending in a tie.

In response, Vipers were reduced to 109/7, but an unbroken partnership of 78 between Emily Windsor and Tara Norris ensured the side defended their title, winning by 3 wickets with 2 balls to spare.

The side finished bottom of the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy group stage, losing all seven of their matches. The side recorded their first ever win in their opening match of the Charlotte Edwards Cup, beating Western Storm, but did not win any further matches, finishing bottom of Group B.

The side finished sixth in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy, with 3 wins from their 7 matches. In the Charlotte Edwards Cup, the side finished second in Group B, narrowly missing out on progressing to Finals Day.

In the Charlotte Edwards Cup, the side finished second in Group A, winning four of their six matches and progressing to the semi-final as the best second-placed team. They beat South East Stars by 2 wickets in the semi-final, but lost to Southern Vipers by 6 wickets in the final. Central Sparks wicket-keeper batter Amy Jones was named as Player of the Year in the Charlotte Edwards Cup, and was the tournament's leading run-scorer with 289 runs in 8 matches. The side finished fifth in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy, winning two of their six matches.

The 2022 season was Northern Diamonds' third season, in which they competed in the 50 over Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy and the Twenty20 Charlotte Edwards Cup. In the Charlotte Edwards Cup, the side finished second in Group B, winning three of their six matches. The side finished top of the group in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy, winning six of their seven matches and progressing directly to the final. In the final, they faced Southern Vipers for the third time in three Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy finals. Northern Diamonds won by 2 runs to claim their first ever title. Northern Diamonds batter Lauren Winfield-Hill was named as Player of the Year in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy, and was the tournament's leading run-scorer with 470 runs at an average of 78.30.

In the Charlotte Edwards Cup, the side finished top of Group A, winning five of their six matches and progressing to the semi-final. In the semi-final, they lost to Central Sparks by 2 wickets. In the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy, the side finished second in the group, winning five of their seven matches and progressing to the play-off. In the play-off, they lost to Southern Vipers by 6 wickets.

In the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy, the side finished bottom of the group, losing six of their seven matches, with the other cancelled.
