The 2021 Sudirman Cup knockout stage was held at the Energia Areena in Vantaa, Finland, from 1 to 3 October 2021.

Contents

The knockout stage was the second and final stage of the competition, following the group stage. It began with the quarter-finals (1 October), followed by the semi-finals (2 October), and the final (3 October). The two highest-finished teams in 4 groups (8 teams in total) qualified to the knockout stage. [1]

2011 Sudirman Cup

The 2011 Sudirman Cup was the twelfth tournament of the Sudirman Cup. It was held from May 22–29, 2011 in Qingdao, China. According to the Badminton World Federation (BWF) 32 teams have confirmed their participation, for the first time twelve teams competed in the elite group to battle for the title.

2013 Sudirman Cup

The 2013 Sudirman Cup was the thirteenth tournament of the Sudirman Cup. It was held from May 19–26, 2013 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. According to the Badminton World Federation (BWF) 31 teams have confirmed their participation, for the second time, twelve teams competed in the elite group to battle for the title.

2015 Sudirman Cup Badminton championships

The 2015 Sudirman Cup was the fourteenth tournament of the Sudirman Cup. It was held in Dongguan, China.

The 2015 AFC Cup knockout stage was played from 26 May to 31 October 2015. A total of 16 teams competed in the knockout stage to decide the champions of the 2015 AFC Cup.

The 2016 AFC Cup knockout stage was played from 24 May to 5 November 2016. A total of 16 teams competed in the knockout stage to decide the champions of the 2016 AFC Cup.

The group stage of the 2017 Sudirman Cup was the first stage of the competition. It began on 21 May and ended on 25 May, held at Carrara Sport and Leisure Centre in Gold Coast, Australia. The teams from group 2 and 3 advanced to the final classification stage to compete in a single-elimination tournament.

It began on 25 May with the quarter-finals and ended on 28 May with the final match of the tournament, held at Carrara Sport and Leisure Centre in Gold Coast, Australia. The top two teams from each group advanced to the final knockout stage to compete in a single-elimination tournament. The teams from group 2 and 3 advanced to the final classification stage to compete in a single-elimination tournament.

Uzbekistan is one of the most successful teams in Asia, and the most successful team in Central Asia, having qualified for every AFC Asian Cup since the fall of the Soviet Union. With a rich history of competing in the tournament, Uzbekistan is often regarded as a top team and a rising contender for the Asian Cup title. Teams from group 2 and 3 play round robin in respective subgroup and advanced to classification round to determine the overall placings, meanwhile teams from group 4 play in a single round robin format for final placings.

It began on 23 May with the quarter-finals and ended on 26 May with the final match of the tournament, held at Guangxi Sports Center in Nanning, China. 2020 Thomas & Uber Cup Biennial international badminton championship

The 2020 Thomas & Uber Cup was the 31st edition of the Thomas Cup and the 28th edition of the Uber Cup, the biennial international badminton championship contested by the men and women's national teams of the member associations of Badminton World Federation (BWF). The tournament were played at Ceres Arena in Aarhus, Denmark. It is the first time that Denmark hosted the Thomas Cup and Uber Cup tournament and the first time this event was held in Europe since England 1982. It was due to be played on 15–23 August 2020, but on 29 April 2020 it was postponed to the 3–11 October due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On 15 September 2020 it was again postponed and on 21 December 2020 it was announced that it was postponed to 9–17 October 2021.

2021 Sudirman Cup World mixed team badminton championships

The 2021 Sudirman Cup was the 17th edition of the Sudirman Cup, the biennial international badminton championship contested by the mixed national teams of the member associations of Badminton World Federation (BWF), since its inception in 1989. The tournament was played in Vantaa, Finland, between 26 September and 3 October 2021. China were the defending champions. They successfully defended their title, lifting the trophy for a record-extending 12th time.

The 2022 Thomas & Uber Cup is the 32nd edition of the Thomas Cup and the 29th edition of the Uber Cup, the biennial international badminton championship contested by the men and women's national teams of the member associations of Badminton World Federation (BWF). The tournament will be hosted at Bangkok, Thailand in the Impact Arena from 8 to 15 May 2022. This marks the third time Thailand will host the Thomas Cup, and second time for the Uber Cup.
