The National Lacrosse League (NLL) is a men's professional box lacrosse league in North America. The league is headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Glenn Clark is the head coach of the Albany FireWolves and the former head coach of the Toronto Rock of the National Lacrosse League. He was also a former NLL player. Clark played in the NLL from 1998-2006 for both the Rock and the Philadelphia Wings. With the Rock, Clark won five NLL Championships. He also appeared in three National Lacrosse League All-Star Games, two with the Rock, and one with the Wings. In 2003, Clark played for Team Canada as they won the World Indoor Lacrosse Championships. In 2011, he became goaltending coach for Team Canada. Glenn played for the Eastenders ball hockey team out of Toronto, Ontario from 2013 to 2016

Darryl Gibson is a Canadian lacrosse coach and former professional player. He played for the Albany Attack, Toronto Rock, San Jose Stealth, Arizona Sting, Minnesota Swarm, Chicago Shamrox and Buffalo Bandits the National Lacrosse League. Gibson is now an Assistant Coach for the Albany FireWolves.

Ryan Benesch is a Canadian professional lacrosse player who plays for the Halifax Thunderbirds in the National Lacrosse League. Benesch has also played for the Albany FireWolves, Colorado Mammoth, Buffalo Bandits, Minnesota Swarm, Edmonton Rush, Toronto Rock, and Panther City LC and was the 2011 NLL scoring leader. Benesch was born in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada.

The New England Black Wolves were a professional box lacrosse team based in Uncasville, Connecticut. They were members of the East Division of the National Lacrosse League and began play in the winter of 2014–2015 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville. The team was partially owned by the Mohegan Tribe of Indians of Connecticut, partially owned by Ted Goldthorpe, and partially owned by Brad Brewster.

The Rochester Knighthawks are a professional box lacrosse team in the Eastern Conference of the National Lacrosse League. They play in Rochester, New York at the Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial.

Connor Fields is an American-Canadian professional lacrosse player who plays for Archers Lacrosse Club of the Premier Lacrosse League and the Rochester Knighthawks of the National Lacrosse League. He played college lacrosse at the University at Albany, where he was an All-American all four years. He was drafted by the San Diego Seals in the 2018 National Lacrosse League Entry Draft. He was also drafted in Major League Lacrosse by the Charlotte Hounds in 2018.

The New England Black Wolves are a lacrosse team based in Uncasville, Connecticut playing in the National Lacrosse League (NLL). The 2020 season was the team's 6th season in the league. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the season was suspended on March 12, 2020. On April 8, the league made a further public statement announcing the cancellation of the remaining games of the 2020 season and that they would be exploring options for playoffs once it was safe to resume play.

The Interstate Box Lacrosse Association (IBLA) was a men's senior box lacrosse league based in the United States. From 2019 to 2021, the IBLA served as an official partner of the National Lacrosse League (NLL), operating as a developmental funnel. The league was founded in 2017 to unite regional senior leagues into a system similar to the Canadian Lacrosse Association structure of men's Senior A and Senior B box lacrosse teams. As of 2021 there are 52 total teams playing in 17 regional leagues. Jules Nehemiah Heningburg is an American professional lacrosse player on the Redwoods Lacrosse Club of the Premier Lacrosse League and Albany FireWolves of the National Lacrosse League. He played college lacrosse at Rutgers University where he was a two-time All-Big Ten selection and All-American. Heningburg was selected 7th overall in the first round of the 2018 Major League Lacrosse Draft by the Florida Launch.

The Albany FireWolves are a professional box lacrosse team based in Albany, New York. They are members of the Eastern Conference of the National Lacrosse League that began play in the 2021–22 season at MVP Arena. The team is owned by a group headed by former NLL player Oliver Marti.

The 2022 National Lacrosse League season, formally known as the 2021–2022 season, was the 35th in the history of the NLL. The season began on December 3, 2021, and ended with the NLL final in late spring of 2022. This was the inaugural season for the expansion team Panther City Lacrosse Club, and the Albany FireWolves who relocated from New England. The NLL returned after missing a season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
