Pre-season and friendlies

On March 11, HFX Wanderers FC announced that the club had played New Brunswick club CS Dieppe in a friendly earlier that day. [17] On March 16, the club announced that it would hold a pre-season camp in Mississauga, Ontario with friendlies against Forge FC and clubs in League1 Ontario. [18]

The 2022 FC Edmonton season was the eleventh and final season in the history of FC Edmonton. In addition to the Canadian Premier League, the club competed in the Canadian Championship. The club was run directly by the CPL as the league searched for a new owner.

The 2022 Cavalry FC season was the fourth season in the history of Cavalry FC. In addition to the Canadian Premier League, the club competed in the Canadian Championship.

The 2022 Atlético Ottawa season was the third season in the history of Atlético Ottawa. In addition to the Canadian Premier League, the club competed in the Canadian Championship. This was the club's first season under head coach Carlos González after the departure of Mista following the 2021 season.

The 2023 HFX Wanderers FC season was the fifth season in the history of HFX Wanderers FC. In addition to the Canadian Premier League, the club competed in the Canadian Championship.
