Sitting volleyball is a form of volleyball for athletes with a disability organized by World ParaVolley. As opposed to standing volleyball, sitting volleyball players must sit on the floor to play.
World ParaVolley, formerly the World Organization Volleyball for Disabled (WOVD), is an international organization that is for people with physical disabilities. It is affiliated with the International Paralympic Committee (IPC). The World Organization Volleyball for Disabled was established in 1981 and was part of the International Sports Organization for Disabled (ISOD). In 1992 the WOVD became its own separate Organization in Barcelona, Spain. The WOVD Headquarters were also established in the Netherlands. The WOVD is responsible for managing and controlling the conduct of international volleyball competitions for men, women and youth. The WOVD also liaises with IPC (as an independent organisation) and with other organizations for people with or without disabilities. The organization adopted its present name World ParaVolley at its 2014 general assembly.
This article contains lists of achievements in major senior-level international indoor volleyball, beach volleyball and sitting volleyball tournaments according to first-place, second-place and third-place results obtained by teams representing different nations. The objective is not to create combined medal tables; the focus is on listing the best positions achieved by teams in major international tournaments, ranking the nations according to the most podiums accomplished by teams of these nations.
The Iran men's national sitting volleyball team represents the Islamic Republic of Iran in international sitting volleyball competitions and friendly matches. The team is one of the dominant forces on the court worldwide. In foreign media, team Iran is colloquially known as the dream team of sitting volleyball.

The winners secure a ticket to the 2024 Summer Paralympics. Iran were the defending champions and successfully defended their title triumphing over Bosnia and Herzegovina in straight sets.
The 2022 Sitting Volleyball World Championships – Women's event was the 8th edition of this tournament. For the first time, the competition was held in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The winners secure a ticket to the 2024 Summer Paralympics. Russia were the defending champions, but couldn't defend their title due to their suspension because of their invasion of Ukraine. Brazil won their first title, beating Canada, 3–2, in the final.

The winners qualify for the 2024 Summer Paralympics. The defending champions are Bosnia and Herzegovina. They successfully defended their title after defeating Germany, 3–2, in the final.

Italy won their first title, beating Slovenia 3–1 in the final.
The 2023 Pan American Sitting Volleyball Championships decided who took the Americas spot in the Sitting Volleyball tournament at the 2024 Paralympics, after Sitting Volleyball was taken out of the 2023 Pan American Games events program. The winners of the men's tournament was Brazil's men, while the United States won the women's event.
The 2023 Asia and Oceania Sitting Volleyball Championships was the 5th edition of the championship and decided who took the Asia spot in the Sitting Volleyball tournament at the 2024 Summer Paralympics. The tournament was held in the Kazakh capital of Astana. The winners of the men's tournament was Iran's men, while China won the women's event.
The 2023 Sitting Volleyball World Cup – Women's event was for the first time held in Cairo, Egypt. The winners or highest ranked team not yet qualified, will advance to the 2024 Summer Paralympics. The reigning champions are United States, but they didn't enter this time around. China won the title, dispatching Canada 3–1 in the final.
The 2024 African Sitting Volleyball Championships – Men's tournament was held in Lagos, Nigeria. The winners qualify for the 2024 Summer Paralympics. The defending champions are Egypt. Egypt successfully defended their title with a 3–0 win over Morocco.
The 2024 African Sitting Volleyball Championships – Women's tournament was held in Lagos, Nigeria. The winners qualify for the 2024 Summer Paralympics. Rwanda are the three-time defending champions. Rwanda won the competition and qualified for the Paralympics after a 3–0 over Kenya.
The 2024 Men's Sitting Volleyball Paralympic Final Qualification Tournament was held in Dali, China. The winners qualify for the 2024 Summer Paralympics. Ukraine won the event and qualified for the 2024 Summer Paralympics after triumphing over United States 3–0 in the final.
The 2024 Women's Sitting Volleyball Paralympic Final Qualification Tournament was held in Dali, China. The winners qualify for the 2024 Summer Paralympics. Slovenia won the event and qualified for the 2024 Summer Paralympics after winning all their games and defeating Iran 3–2 in the final.
The 2024 World ParaVolley Women's Super 6 was held in Nancy, France. United States are the defending champions.
