The 53rd ISSF World Shooting Championships were held in Baku, Azerbaijan from 14 August to 1 September 2023. They also served as a qualification event for the 2024 Summer Olympics. [2]

Due to ongoing tension between Azerbaijan and Armenia it was feared that this might affect Armenia's participation in the world championships. On 11 July 2023 Head of the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan Qabil Mehdiyev stated that Azerbaijan will ensure the safety of athletes and members of delegations of all participating countries, including representatives from Armenia. [73] [74] This was followed by Armenian Shooting Federation secretary general Arek Saribekyan's statement that Armenia wants to participate in the championships and hopes that the team does not face any obstacles. [75]
Shooting at the 2011 Island Games was held from 28 June to 1 July 2011 at Sainham, Godshill.
The European Shooting Championships are the continental championships for ISSF sport shooting disciplines in Europe, including 10m air rifle and air pistol, cartridge rifle and pistol. Sometimes the competition also includes trap shooting, skeet and running target shooting events, usually organized in special championships.
Shooting, for the 2013 Island Games, took place at the Warwick Camp, the Finger, and Cooper's Island, Bermuda. Competition took place from 14 to 19 July 2013.
Shooting competitions at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo were originally scheduled from 25 July to 3 August 2020, due to the postponement of the Summer Olympics to 2021, the rescheduled dates were on 24 July to 2 August 2021 at the Asaka Shooting Range. Unlike in 2016, the number of shooters competing across fifteen events at these Games had been reduced from 390 to 360, with an equal distribution between men and women. Furthermore, several significant changes were instituted in the Olympic shooting program, including the substitution of three male-only events, with the mixed team competitions.

The 2016 ISSF Junior World Cup is the annual edition of the ISSF Junior World Cup, governed by the International Shooting Sport Federation.

The 2017 ISSF Junior World Championships was held in Suhl, Germany for Rifle, Pistol and Target Sprint from 22 June to 29 June 2017 and in Moscow, Russia for Shotgun from 30 August to 11 September 2017.
The shooting competition at the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games was held in Barranquilla, Colombia from 22 to 31 July and were held at the Club de Tiro Deportivo.
The 52nd ISSF World Shooting Championships were held in Changwon, South Korea from 2 to 14 September 2018.

The 2021 ISSF World Cup is the annual edition of the ISSF World Cup in the Olympic shooting events, governed by the International Shooting Sport Federation.
The 2021 European Shooting Championships were held from 22 May to 5 June 2021 in Osijek, Croatia. 1,473 athletes from 52 countries competed.

The New Zealand Shooting Federation (NZSF) is the governing body for Target Shooting Sports in New Zealand. It holds responsibility for selecting and developing national teams for World Championships, as well as the Olympic and Commonwealth Games.
The 2023 ISSF Junior World Championships will be a third edition of the best junior shooters to be held in Changwon, South Korea for Rifle, Pistol, and Shotgun from 14 July to 25 July.
