Tareg Ali Hamedi is a Saudi Arabian karateka. He represented Saudi Arabia at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. He won the silver medal in the men's +75 kg event after being disqualified for knocking out his opponent with an illegal kick. He is an eight-time medalist, including four gold medals, at the Asian Karate Championships. He is also a gold medalist at the 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games and a two-time bronze medalist at the Asian Games.

It was the fifth time in history that the championship was organised by the Kazakhstan Handball Federation. The 2021 World Armwrestling Championship was the 42nd edition of the World Armwrestling Championship held in Bucharest, Romania from 24 November to 3 December. The event was supposed to be held from 18 to 27 September 2020 in Batumi, Georgia. It was later postponed and then moved to another location. Georgian Armwrestling Federation was disqualified by the WAF Executive Board because of failing to organize the 2021 World Armwrestling Championship.
