Alexander Igorevich Grischuk is a Russian chess grandmaster. Grischuk was the Russian champion in 2009. He is also a three-time world blitz chess champion.
Alexandre Pliușchin is a Moldovan former professional road bicycle racer, who rode professionally between 2008 and 2015. He still competes as an amateur, having last rode for Abu Dhabi CC in 2023. He is a four-time National Road Race Champion; winning in 2008, 2010, 2011 and 2012. Pliuschin also represented Moldova in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, having participated in the Men's Road Race and the Men's Individual Pursuit.
Ju Wenjun is a Chinese chess grandmaster. She is the current Women's World Chess Champion. In March 2017 she became the fifth woman to achieve a rating of 2600. She is a four-time Women's World Chess Champion, having won the title first in May 2018. She then defended her title in November 2018, 2020, and 2023.
Siarhei Papok is a Belarusian road bicycle racer, who most recently rode for Belarusian amateur team Minsk Cycling Club.
Nebojša Jovanović is a Serbian professional road bicycle racer. He was the National Road Race Champion for Serbia and Montenegro in 2004.
The FIDE Women's Grand Prix 2013–14 was a series of six chess tournaments exclusively for women, which formed part of the qualification cycle for the Women's World Chess Championship 2015. The winner of the Grand Prix was decided in the last stage in Sharjah, UAE, when rating favorite and reigning world champion Hou Yifan overtook second seeded Koneru Humpy to win her third straight Grand Prix cycle. For the third time running, Koneru Humpy finished runner-up to Hou Yifan.

Abderrahmane Mansouri is an Algerian racing cyclist, who rides for Algerian amateur team Mouloudia Club d'Alger. In 2015 and 2016 he won the Algerian National Road Race Championships.

The calendar consisted of six events, beginning in Portimão, Portugal on 22 May 2005, and ending in Sharjah, UAE on 16 December 2005. Guido Cappellini, driving for the Tamoil F1 Team, clinched his ninth world title, re-taking the championship from defending champion Scott Gillman.

Sainbayaryn Jambaljamts is a Mongolian cyclist, who currently rides for UCI ProTeam Burgos BH. He is the current road race champion of Mongolia and a medalist at the Asian Games. He is the first rider from Mongolia to become a professional cyclist.
