The 2024 Lalitpur Mayor Women's Cup was the fourth edition of the Lalitpur Mayor Women's Cup, the premier Twenty20 cricket tournament in Nepal. [1] The tournament had 5 teams including Lalitpur Mayor's XI along with 4 teams that reached the semi-finals of the Prime Minister's Cup Women's T-20 National Tournament. The Lalitpur Mayor's XI team is formed from the players of remaining four provinces that did not reach the semi-finals of Prime Minister's Cup. All team play with each other's in round-robin format with top two team advancing to the finals.
Nepal A.P.F. Club were the defending champion having won the all three previous editions. [2] [3]
Nepal A.P.F. Club (APF) Club women have clinched the title of Lalitpur Mayor’s Cup Women’s Tournament 2024. [4] They won their fourth consecutive title of the Lalitpur Mayor Women's T20 championship at the TU Cricket Ground by defeating Sudurpashchim Province by 2 runs in the final. [5]

Rubina Chhetry is a Nepali cricketer who plays for the women's national cricket team as a right-arm medium pace bowler. She is the former captain of the team appointed in 2012, when she replaced Neri Thapa. In 2009, she became the first cricketer to take a hat-trick for Nepal in an international match, and in 2019 she took Nepal's first hat-trick in a Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I).

The tournament was contested by teams representing the seven Provinces of Nepal as well as three departmental teams. It began on 15 January 2021 and ended on 30 January 2021. All matches of the tournament were broadcast live by DishHome's "Action Sports" channel. Nepal Police Club were the defending champions, but were eliminated at the semi-final stage by Armed Police Force Club. Tribhuwan Army Club won the title following a 33-run win over APF Club in the final.

The 2023 ACC Women's T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup was the inaugural edition of the ACC Women's T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup played in Hong Kong in June 2023, with all the matches held at the Mission Road Ground in Kowloon. Eight teams took part in the tournament, including the A teams of four nations with ODI status and the next four top associate teams. The tournament was organized by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).

Surya Tamang is a Nepalese cricketer who plays as a left arm off-spin bowler. He has played in different leagues including NepalT20, EPL,Dhangadhi Premier League ,NPL for different teams like Biratnagar Super Kings, Lalitpur Patriots, Armed Police Force, Lumbini Lions, Kathmandu Golden Warriors & Rapti team in Gautam Buddha Cup 2020. He had also been a part of Under-19s in 2018 ACC Under-19 Asia Cup and 2019 ACC Under-19 Asia Cup. In 2022, Tamang was adjudged as emerging player of the tournament in the inaugural Nepal T20 League. Soon, he got the maiden call up for the National team for the home Tri-Series against Namibia and Scotland under CWC League 2 in February 2023. He was adjudged Player of the Tournament in 2024 Prime Minister Cup where he took a record 30 wickets in 9 matches representing Bagmati Province cricket team. Tamang became the 38th player to represent Nepal national cricket team in ODI when he made his debut against the Canada.

The 2023–24 Prime Minister Cup (Women) was the ninth edition of the Prime Minister Cup Women's National Cricket Tournament, the premier Twenty20 cricket tournament in Nepal. The tournament was contested by teams representing the seven Provinces of Nepal as well as one departmental teams. It began on 21 December 2023 and end on 3 January 2024. The format was changed for the 2023–24 season, with the eight teams competing in a round-robin format with the top four advancing to the play-offs.

The tri-nation series was contested by the men's national teams of Namibia, Nepal and Netherlands. The matches were played as One Day International (ODI) fixtures.

2024 ACC Under-19 Women's T20 Asia Cup was the inaugural edition of the Under-19 Women's T20 Asia Cup, a limited overs cricket tournament featured six under-19 women's teams.
