The 2024 U20 World Wrestling Championships was the 46th edition of the World Junior Wrestling Championships, which was held in Pontevedra, Spain between 2 and 8 September 2024. [1] Turkmenistan won its first-ever world title in freestyle. [2] Sri Lanka won its first ever medal at a World Wrestling Championships event. [3]

The 2023 World Wrestling Championships was held from 16 to 24 September 2023 in Belgrade, Serbia. Wrestlers get a chance to win 90 quotas for the 2024 Summer Olympics from the Belgrade Worlds. Any nation that participated in the 2023 continental championships was eligible to participate in the World Championships.

The 2023 World Junior Wrestling Championships (U20) was the 45th edition of the World Junior Wrestling Championships and was held in Amman, Jordan between 14 and 20 August 2023. The event was originally scheduled to be held in Warsaw, Poland from August 14-20. Due to Poland's refusal to issue visas to Russian and Belarusian wrestlers, United World Wrestling moved the tournament from Poland to Jordan.
