Shooting

The shooting started at around 5:30 PM on April 8, 2025, multiple shooters armed with AR-15 styled rifles started shooting at the 500 block of Olde Greenwich Circle with the local sheriff office telling people to remain inside shortly after. [2] Several 911 calls were called in as reports of gunshots being heard in the area. [3] As deputies and police officers arrived on scene, there were multiple people with gunshot wounds with all the victims outdoors. [4] The gunfire was considered to be sporadic with multiple homes and cars being riddled with bullets. [5] There was a total of six people on the scene with three declared dead on scene, the rest were taken to the hospital. [6] All those who were injured were considered critically wounded. [7] One of the neighbors at the area of the shooting shot his own gun at one of the shooters, causing a 16-year-old suspect to be wounded. [8] There were no arrests or apprehensions made by police when they arrived, with at least one suspect remaining on the loose as police searched. [9] Authorities requested any footage available of the shooters including Ring Doorbell camera footage or security camera footage for leads on the suspects identities. [10]

Victims

The three deceased victims were identified as teenagers Chase Feaster and Alonzo Goffney, both 18-years-old, and 19-year-old Sincere Devon Fitz, all of Spotsylvania County. [11]

Suspects

On the morning of April 9, 2025, police apprehended two suspects after a video was circulating on social media showing two young men with assault rifles in the area during the shooting. [15]

After later investigations, two more suspects were arrested with one in the hospital suffering from a gunshot wound, the investigations revealed the shooting was caused by an illegal gun sale turned robbery gone wrong. [16] The suspects were two 16-year-olds, one 17-year-old, and one 18-year-old, later identified as Jeremiah Upson, who were charged with malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony unlawful assembly after their capture. [17] [18] The wounded suspect was released from the hospital on April 14 and transferred to Rappahannock Regional Juvenile Detention Center. [11] They are being held without bail. [19]
