The 2025 LOVB Pro season is the inaugural season of LOVB Pro. ^[1] Six teams will compete over 14 weeks, including 12 weeks of regular season play, one mid-season tournament (LOVB Classic), and one week of finals. ^{[2] [3]}

Inaugural season did not include a draft, however it was announced in December 2024 that six rookies (referred to as The LOVB 6) were signed to play in one of the six teams. ^{[4] [5]} Later in January 2025 a seventh rookie joined the league, as Pittsburgh Panthers alum Rachel Fairbanks was signed to LOVB Atlanta. ^[6]

Format

• Each team will play 16 games - 3 games each with 4 of the opponent teams, and 4 games with the remaining one opponent. ^[7]
• Four games will be played each week: ^[8]
  • One weekday head-to-head match between two teams at one LOVB city.
  • One weekend three-match series between four teams at one LOVB city.
• Each LOVB city will host a total of 8 games throughout the regular season.
• Top 2 ranked teams at the end of the regular season will win semifinal seeds at the LOVB Finals. Remaining 4 teams will play in the quarterfinals. ^[9]

Standings procedure

The ranking of teams in the league round will be determined as follows: ^[10]

• Teams will be ranked by win ratio.
• If two teams are tied, following tie-breakers will be applied:

1. Head-to-Head (H2H) win ratio
2. H2H set ratio
3. H2H point ratio
4. Total set ratio
5. Total point ratio

• If more than two teams are tied, following tie-breakers will be applied:

1. Win ratio, only including games played between tied teams
2. Set ratio, only including games played between tied teams
3. Point ratio, only including games played between tied teams
4. If one team gets eliminated from the multiple-team tie, remaining teams will be ranked with H2H tie-breakers.

LOVB Classic

The inaugural LOVB Classic tournament was held at Kansas City, Missouri on Valentine's Day weekend, February 14-16, 2025. ^[13] It was announced that the top three teams would be awarded with a cash prize of $100000, $40000, and $20000, respectively. ^[14]

Teams were seeded based on league rankings after Week 5. On Friday's quarterfinals, #3 Houston defeated #6 Madison, and #5 Austin upset #4 Salt Lake. Saturday's semifinals featured another upset win, with #3 Houston defeating #2 Omaha. In the second semifinal, #1 seed Atlanta defeated #5 Austin and advanced to the final. Sunday started with the 5th place match where #4 Salt Lake won against #6 Madison. In the 3rd place match, #5 Austin prevailed over #2 Omaha to win a $20000 prize. The final game was another upset, with #3 Houston defeating #1 seed Atlanta. Atlanta took second place, and won $40000. Houston won the inaugural LOVB Classic title along with the $100000 prize. ^{[15] [16]}
