Logan Eggleston (born November 13, 2000) is an American professional volleyball player who plays for LOVB Austin. She played college volleyball for the Texas Longhorns, where she won the 2022 national championship and was named AVCA National Player of the Year in her fifth season.

Early life

Eggleston was born on November 13, 2000, in Brentwood, Tennessee, to a white mother and black father. [1] She played basketball in her youth but took up volleyball at age 13. [1] She was selected to the United States junior national team at 16 and was named the team's Most Valuable Player and Best Server in 2018. [1] [2] She won three straight state championships at Brentwood High School before graduating a year early to attend the University of Texas at Austin. [2] [3]

College career

Eggleton played at the University of Texas from 2018 to 2022. She was named Big 12 Conference Freshman of the Year in 2018. [1] She became captain of the Longhorns as a sophomore. [1] She became the president of the school's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee in 2020, taking part in campus activism to rename landmarks and build statues of former black students, and sitting on a committee to review the minstrelsy-related school song "The Eyes of Texas", during the George Floyd protests that summer. [1] [4] She took Texas to the 2020 NCAA tournament finals and was named Big 12 Player of the Year for the first of three times (2020, 2021, 2022). [1] [5]

In her fifth year of eligibility, Eggleston led Texas to win the 2022 NCAA championship alongside fellow first-team All-Americans Asjia O'Neal and Zoe Fleck. [6] [7] Eggleston was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player and the national AVCA Player of the Year. [6] She won five straight Big 12 championships at Texas and set the Big 12 career ace record with 208 aces. [6] [8]

Professional career

Eggleston signed a 112-year contract with the Turkish volleyball club Galatasaray S.K., based in Istanbul, during the 2022–23 season. [9]

Eggleston joined LOVB Austin ahead of LOVB Pro's inaugural 2025 season. [10]

The Texas Longhorns are the athletic teams representing the University of Texas at Austin. The 2022 NCAA Division I women's volleyball tournament was a single-elimination tournament of 64 teams that determined the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I women's volleyball national champion for the 2022 season. The 42nd edition of the tournament began on December 1, 2022, in various college campuses across the country, location determinations were chosen based on participating teams seedings. The tournament concluded with the championship game at CHI Health Center in Omaha on December 17, when Texas defeated Louisville 3–0. The win gave Texas its 4th national title and first since 2012.

Madisen Skinner is an American professional volleyball player who plays for LOVB Austin and the United States national team. She played college volleyball for the Kentucky Wildcats and the Texas Longhorns, winning three NCAA championships. She won the Honda Sports Award as the best player in college volleyball in 2023.

Sarah Franklin is an American professional volleyball player LOVB Madison of LOVB Pro. A 6-foot-4-inch (1.93 m) outside hitter, played college volleyball for the Michigan State Spartans and the Wisconsin Badgers. She was named the AVCA National Player of the Year in 2023 and Big Ten Player of the Year in 2023 and 2024.

Lexi Rodriguez is an American professional volleyball libero for LOVB Omaha of LOVB Pro. She played college volleyball for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, where she holds the program record for career digs. She was named AVCA All-American four times and Big Ten Defensive Player or Libero of the Year three times.
