Jennifer "Blair" Brown Lipsitz (born March 5, 1988) is a writer and mental performance consultant, and was formerly a volleyball player and coach. [1] [2] [3]
Brown Lipsitz grew up in Purcellville, Virginia and attended Loudoun Valley High School, where she helped lead her team to an undefeated season and state championship. She was inducted into the school's hall of fame in 2017. [4]
Brown Lipsitz attended Penn State where she was a member of the teams that won four consecutive national championships, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010. [4] She won the Honda Sports Award as the best female collegiate volleyball player in 2010–11. [5] In 2011, she was nominated for the Best Female College Athlete ESPY Award. [6]
Brown Lipsitz started as a volunteer assistant on the volleyball coaching staff at Buffalo in 2014, then in 2015, was named the head volleyball coach, where she remained until 2019. [3] [7]
Purcellville is a town in Loudoun County, Virginia. The population was 8,929 according to the 2020 Census. Purcellville is the major population center for Western Loudoun and the Loudoun Valley. Many of the older structures remaining in Purcellville reflect the Victorian architecture popular during the early twentieth century.
Logan Maile Lei Tom is a former American indoor volleyball, beach volleyball player, and is current head coach of the Israel women's national volleyball team. She is a four-time Olympian at the outside hitter position. At age 19, Logan became the youngest woman ever to be selected for an American Olympic volleyball team when she competed at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. She is a skilled all-around player who brings stability to the American serve receive and defense, while also providing the team with a solid attack and block at the net. She had been a huge part of the national team from 2000 to 2012. At the 2008 Olympics, Tom helped Team USA win a silver medal and was named Best Scorer, she won another silver medal at the 2012 Olympics with the national team. She was also awarded the Most Valuable Player of the 2004 FIVB World Grand Prix.
Loudoun Valley High School is a public secondary school in Purcellville, Virginia. It is part of Loudoun County Public Schools. Before the opening of Woodgrove High School in 2010, it was the sole high school for the western half of Loudoun County.
The Penn State Nittany Lions women's volleyball program has had a long tradition, founded in 1976 by Tom Tait, long-time coach of the Penn State men's team, who coached the women's team from 1976 to 1979 and was named a USA Volleyball All-Time great coach in 2007.

The Buffalo Bulls women's volleyball team represents the University at Buffalo in NCAA Division I college volleyball. The team participates in the East Division of the Mid-American Conference (MAC). The Bulls are currently led by first year coach Scott Smith, who took over in 2019 when the previous coach, Blair Brown Lipsitz, resigned. Smith was an assistant for four years under Lipsitz, and this is his first head coaching job at the NCAA level. The team plays its home games at Alumni Arena, located on the university's campus.
