Sarah Bacon (born September 20, 1996) is an American diver.
Having begun diving since 2004, her first major competitive accomplishments came in 2014 when she was named the NISCA All-American Champion, and that same year won 1st place in both the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard events at the 2014 Junior National Diving Championships, as well as the 1-meter event at the AT&T Senior National Diving Championships, and would be named team captain for the FINA World Junior Diving Championships. After graduating from Cardinal Ritter High School, she would go on to attend the University of Minnesota, opening her college career by finishing 2nd against Wisconsin in the 1-meter event, and during her freshman year finish 2nd place in 1-meter diving event at the 2017 NCAA Championships, 3rd and 4th place at the 3-meter and 1-meter diving event at the 2017 Big Ten Championships, respectively, as well as earning 1st place in both 1-meter and 3-meter event against Iowa, and 1st in 1-meter at the Minnesota Challenge. [1] During that time she would also place 4th at the world championship trials in the 3-meter event. [2] [3]
Her Sophomore year (2017-2018) saw her finishing 1st in the 1-meter event at the NCAA Championships and the Big Ten Championships, where she also finished 2nd in the 3-meter event. she would also finish 1st in both categories against Northwestern and Purdue, and took 1st in the 1-meter dive at both the Tennessee Collegiate Diving Invitational and the Minnesota Diving Invitational. [1] [3] In 2018 she would also take 2nd place at the USA Diving Winter Trials for the 1-meter dive and 3rd in the USA Diving Senior National Championships for the synchronized 3-meter dive with her partner, Kristen Hayden. During her Junior year (2018-2019) She would become the 2019 Big Ten Diver of the Year and the NCAA 1-meter diving champion, in the process breaking a previous 12 year record with a score of 363.20, as well as setting the school and pool record for the 3-meter dive in the Big Ten Championships, with a score of 430.60. In 2019 she would also take 1st in the 1-meter (299.10) and 3rd (307.90) in the 3-meter, as well as 2nd in the 3-meter synchronized dive with Hayden (286.80), at the USA Diving National Championships and, while competing for the USA, go on to score 2nd place in the 1-meter dive (262.00) at the 2019 World Aquatics Championships in Gwangju. [2] Later that year, again competing for the US, she and partner Brooke Schultz would take silver for the Women's Synchronized 3 m springboard event and afterwards she would score gold in the women's individual 1 m Springboard event (284.10) at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima [4]
In 2020, Bacon went on to win the USA diving national championships in 3 meter synchro with partner Kassidy Cook. They then went to the FINA grand prix in Madrid, Spain where they secured gold in 3 meter synchro. Bacon also took silver in the individual 3 meter event. In 2020, she also competed in the Rostock, Germany Grand Prix meet, where her and Cook got gold in 3 meter synchro.
Fu Mingxia is a retired Chinese diver, multiple Olympic gold medalist and world champion. She won the platform-diving world championship in 1991 at the age of 12, making her the youngest diving champ of all time. She is also famous for being one of the youngest Olympic diving champions, having earned a gold at the 1992 Barcelona Games when she was just 13 years and 345 days old. Throughout the 1990s, Fu dominated the sport with her repertoire of extremely difficult dives. During the 2000 Sydney Olympics, Fu won her fourth gold medal, joining Americans Pat McCormick and Greg Louganis as the world's only quadruple Olympic-diving champions.
Tania Cagnotto is an Italian diver. She is the first female Italian diver to win a medal in a World Championship. A five-time Olympian, she won medals in both individual and synchronized springboard diving in her final appearance at the Olympics in 2016. She is also a 20-time champion at the European level.
Thomas Robert Daley is a British diver and television personality. Specialising in multiple events, he is an Olympic gold medallist in the men's synchronised 10-metre platform event at the 2020 Olympics and double world champion in the FINA 10-metre platform event, winning in 2009 at the age of fifteen, and again in 2017. He is an Olympic bronze medallist in the 2012 platform event, the 2016 synchronised event, and the 2020 platform event, making him the first British diver to win four Olympic medals. Daley also competes in team events, winning the inaugural mixed team World title in 2015, and repeating the win in 2024, his fourth World title in all. He is a one-time Olympic champion, 4-time World Champion, a 2-time junior World Champion, a 5-time European champion and 4-time Commonwealth champion.
David Alasdair Boudia is an American diver. He won the gold medal in the 10 metre platform diving competition at the 2012 Summer Olympics and the bronze medal in the same event at the 2016 Summer Olympics. He also won a bronze medal with Nick McCrory in the men's synchronized 10 metre platform at the 2012 Summer Olympics and a silver medal in the same event with Steele Johnson at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
Qin Kai is a Chinese diver. He competed for Team China at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, and the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio.
Tonia Couch is a former British Olympic diver.
Guo Jingjing is a retired Chinese diver, and multi-time Olympic gold medalist and world champion. Guo is tied with her partner Wu Minxia for winning the most Olympic medals (6) of any female diver and she won the 3m springboard event at five consecutive World Championships. She announced her retirement in 2011.
Michael Hixon is an American diver. He is a two-time Olympic medalist, having won the silver medal with Sam Dorman in the men's synchronized 3-meter springboard event at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and the silver medal with Andrew Capobianco at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo in the same event.
Shi Tingmao is a Chinese diver representing Chongqing diving team. She has been dominant in the 3 metre springboard events in the 2010s. She has won four gold medals in Olympic competitions, two at the 2016 Olympics and two more at the 2020 Olympics. She also holds eight golds in the World Championships.
Jennifer Abel is a Canadian former diver. She is currently partnered with Mélissa Citrini-Beaulieu for synchronized diving. She won an Olympic bronze medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the 3 m synchro diving event with Émilie Heymans and a silver medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics in the same event with Melissa Citrini-Beaulieu. Abel is a four-time Commonwealth Games champion in the 1 m and 3 m synchronized springboard; and is also a three-time Pan American Games champion in the 3 m springboard and 3 m synchronized springboard. Her ten medals at the FINA World Championships are a record for most medals by a Canadian in diving at the world championships.
Cheong Jun Hoong is a retired Malaysian diver. She won a silver medal in the synchronised 10m platform event with Pandelela Rinong at the 2016 Summer Olympics. At the 2017 World Aquatics Championships, she became Malaysia's first diving world champion after winning the 10m platform event.
Cao Yuan is a Chinese diver and an Olympic gold medalist, having won three golds, one silver and one bronze in the Olympics. He has also won golds in diving at the World Championships and World Cups.
Nancilea Marie Foster is an American diver, who specialized in springboard events. She is a four-time national diving champion in the individual and synchronized springboard events. She also won a bronze medal for the same category at the second meet of the 2007 FINA Diving World Series in Mexico City, Mexico.
Laura Ryan is an American international diver from Elk River, Minnesota. She competes in one and three meter individual springboard diving and 10 meter platform diving as well as three meter synchronized springboard. She dove collegiately at Indiana University (IU) and the University of Georgia (UGA). At UGA she was a two-time NCAA champion.
Minami Itahashi is a Japanese diver. She has represented Japan at various international events since the age of 14, including the 2015 World Aquatics Championships and the 2016 Summer Olympics.

Steele Alexander Johnson is an Olympic silver medal-winning American diver. He has won multiple national titles at both the junior and college levels. Johnson made his Olympic debut at the 2016 Rio Games, where he won a silver medal with David Boudia in the men's 10 m synchronized platform diving competition. Johnson is a six-time senior national champion with USA Diving. He won the 10-meter platform at the 2013 USA Diving Winter Nationals, was a 15-time junior national champion, and was a four-time champion at the Junior Pan American Games.
Eden Cheng is an English elite diver representing Great Britain and England. She won her first major medal in 2018 at the age of 15, when she won the gold medal at the European Championships in the 10 metre platform synchro with Lois Toulson.
Delaney Schnell is an American diver. In the 10 meter platform, she won a bronze medal at the 2019 World Aquatics Championships. In the 10 meter synchronized platform, she won silver medals at the 2020 Summer Olympics and 2022 World Aquatics Championships as well as a bronze medal at the 2019 Pan American Games. In the 10 meter mixed synchronized platform, she won a bronze medal at the 2022 World Aquatics Championships. She competes collegiately for the University of Arizona.
Victoria "Torri" Huske is an American swimmer. She is the current American record holder in both the 100-meter butterfly and the 50-meter butterfly. At the 2022 Fina World Swimming Championships in Budapest, Hungary, Huske, just 19, became one of only four American women in history to win six medals at a World Championships.
