Glenn Dobbs Jr. was an American professional football player in the All-America Football Conference (AAFC). A skilled tailback, quarterback, punter and return specialist, Dobbs was named the AAFC's MVP in 1946. After sitting out the 1950 season with a knee injury, Dobbs was persuaded to come out of retirement to play with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Western Interprovincial Football Union (WIFU), forerunner of the Canadian Football League (CFL). In 1951 Dobbs was named the Most Valuable Player of the WIFU. Dobbs played college football at the University of Tulsa, where he was later head football coach from 1961 to 1968 and athletic director from 1955 to 1970. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame as a player in 1980.

Clarence Victor Iba was the head basketball coach at the University of Tulsa. Iba coached the Tulsa Golden Hurricane men's basketball team for eleven seasons, from 1949 to 1960. He is the brother of former Oklahoma State coach Henry Iba.

They were a member of the West Division of Conference USA (C-USA). They finished the season 8–5, 7–1 in C-USA play to finish in second place in the West Division. They were invited to the Armed Forces Bowl, where they were defeated by BYU, 21–24.

The 1933 Tulsa Golden Hurricane football team represented the University of Tulsa during the 1933 college football season. In their ninth year under head coach Gus Henderson, the Golden Hurricane compiled a 6–1 record. The team gave up an average of only 2.6 points per game, defeated Oklahoma (20–6) and Arkansas (7–0), but lost to Oklahoma A&M (7–0).

The 1990 Tulsa Golden Hurricane football team represented the University of Tulsa as an independent during the 1990 NCAA Division I-A football season. In their third year under head coach David Rader, the Golden Hurricane compiled a 3–8 record. The team's statistical leaders included quarterback Gus Frerotte with 1,066 passing yards, Chris Hughley with 700 rushing yards, and Frank Cassano with 464 receiving yards.

The 1969 Tulsa Golden Hurricane football team represented the University of Tulsa as a member of Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) during the 1969 NCAA University Division football season. In their first and only year under head coach Vince Carillot, the Golden Hurricane compiled an overall record of 1–9 record with a mark of 1–4 against conference opponents, tying for fifth place at the bottom of the MVC standings.

Lamb served as the head football coach at East Tennessee State during the 2024 season. He previously worked as an assistant coach at Tennessee Tech and Mercer University.
