The 70th annual Sydney Film Festival was held from 7 to 18 June 2023. [1] [2] Warwick Thornton's drama film The New Boy opened the festival and James Mangold's action adventure film Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny was the closing film. [3] [4]

She directed the films Radiance (1998), One Night the Moon (2001), Bran Nue Dae (2009), the courtroom drama telemovie Mabo (2012), and Jasper Jones (2017). The acclaimed television drama series Redfern Now was made by Blackfella Films, and Perkins directed two episodes as well as the feature-length conclusion to the series, Promise Me (2015).

His debut feature film Samson and Delilah won the Caméra d'Or at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival and the award for Best Film at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards. He also won the Asia Pacific Screen Award for Best Film in 2017 for Sweet Country.

Tania Nehme is an Australian film editor. She has edited a number of films directed by Rolf de Heer and won and been nominated for many awards for her editing work.

Beck Cole is an Australian filmmaker of the Warramungu and Luritja nations. She is known for her work on numerous TV series, including First Australians, Grace Beside Me, Black Comedy and Wentworth, as well as documentaries and short films. She is based in Alice Springs, in the Northern Territory.

The Mother of All Lies is a 2023 Arabic-language documentary film directed, written, produced and edited by Asmae El Moudir. The film explores the director's search for truth in her family background, combining personal and national history. It is a co-production between Morocco, Egypt, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

The 68th Valladolid International Film Festival (Seminci) took place from 21 to 28 October 2023, in Valladolid, Spain. The Movie Teller, an adaptation of the Hernán Rivera Letelier's novel, directed by Lone Scherfig, opened the festival.

The 69th annual Sydney Film Festival was held from 8 to 19 June 2022. First Nations anthology film We Are Still Here opened the festival, while Hirokazu Kore-eda's drama film Broker was the closing film.

The 68th annual Sydney Film Festival was held from 3 to 21 November 2021. The festival, which traditionally takes place in June, was postponed to August 2021 and eventually rescheduled to be held in November due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film screenings were staged as a "hybrid" of in-person and digital. It marked as the first major festival following the lifting of the lockdown in New South Wales.

The 67th annual Sydney Film Festival was held from 10 to 21 June 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the film screenings were held virtually for the first time. In contrast to the regular editions, the festival only held four programs: Australian documentaries, Europe: Voices of Women in Film, Screenability, and Australian Short Films. The festival was also held as a part of We Are One: A Global Film Festival, an international online film festival.

The 66th annual Sydney Film Festival was held from 5 to 16 June 2019. Comedy drama film Palm Beach opened the festival and musical romantic comedy film Yesterday was the closing film.

The 71st annual Sydney Film Festival was held from 5 to 16 June 2024. The festival opened with Paul Clarke's documentary film Midnight Oil: The Hardest Line, and closed with Coralie Fargeat's horror film The Substance.
