Athletische Sportvereniging Oostende Koninklijke Maatschappij was a Belgian football club from the city of Ostend, West Flanders until its merger with VGO Oostende to form K.V. Oostende in 1981.
It was founded in 1911 as Association Sportive Ostendaise (in French). Eleven years later it took part to the second division until 1926 when it was decided to reduce the number of leagues at that level from two to one. The club had finished 9th on 14 in its league that season while only the first 7 clubs were admitted to the next second division season. In 1931 two leagues were held again and the club was admitted to the second division where it remained until the promotion to the first division in 1969. At the end of the 1970–71 season, A.S.V. Oostende K.M. (as it was known since 1947) was relegated to the third division following two awful years for the club. But in 1973 and in 1974 Oostende promoted twice and was thus back at the top level. The highest position reached by the club was the 12th in 1976. In 1981 the club disappeared following the merge with the matricule n°31.

The 2004–05 season of the Belgian First Division began on August 6, 2004 and ended on May 23, 2005. Club Brugge became champions on May 15, 2005 after a decisive game against long-time rivals Anderlecht. The season was full of suspense as the champions and the relegated teams were only known on the 33rd matchday. Furthermore, the 3rd place had to be decided on a test-match, a fact that had not occurred recently.
Koninklijke Voetbalclub Oostende, also called KV Oostende or KVO, was a Belgian professional football club based in Ostend, West Flanders. The team was founded in 1904 as VG Oostende and had matricule number 31. The club was declared bankrupt in June 2024.

As part of a proposal by the Jupiler Pro League's board of directors accepted by the General Assembly on 15 May 2020, the 2020–21 season would involve shortened playoffs due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Only the top four teams would play for the title, while teams five through eight would play for the remaining ticket into Europe. The league fixtures were announced on 8 July 2020. Club Brugge successfully defended their title from the previous season, finishing level on points in the title play-offs with Racing Genk, as regular season runners-up Royal Antwerp's challenge faded.

Club Brugge completed their first league Championship hat-trick since the 1970s by edging out long-time leaders Union Saint-Gilloise, who had led for 200 days until losing twice to Club in the title play-offs. Had Union achieved their unlikely success, they would have been the first newly promoted side to win the Belgian League, and the first to claim a top-20 ranked European league since FC Kaiserslautern's 1997–98 Bundesliga triumph in Germany.
